[Hei and Misaki are at the bar, because apparently that the Place To Be for disfunctional couples. But they aren't hanging all over each other, flirting, kissing, or talking about the kids. They are sitting as far apart as possible while still remaining in the same space. Misaki sits in a booth, flushed, staring into space. Hei is at the bar facing the opposite direction, drink in hand. Bandaged hand; he appears to have torn it up rather badly.

With the people on the Plane, I don't think it's best for her to kip here. I'll talk to you later, all right, Diva?

[pats Misaki's arm gently]

Come on, Misaki. Just come on off the plane with me. Haruki needs feeding, doesn't he?

[winces slightly as his headache flares, but he ignores it]

...Fine. If you want to talk, call me, alright?

{She shrugs, and she drops off the plane first}

[Doggy. The thought of Haruki being a puppy again almost makes her cry, but miracle of miracles, she actually notices him wince. She lets him draw her out of the booth, her words still drooling into each other.]

Are you all right?

[didorothy]

I've been having... headaches. Since the blindness thing. Doctors probably poisoning me again or something.

[puts a hand on her shoulder to steady her]

We go back on three, all right?

[Frown. She attempts to feel his forehead and misses, grazing his ear.] Damnit.

All right.

[snorts slightly at that]

Three... two... one...

Go.

[and he shifts back into reality, holding onto her still]

...Sam, I think I'm going to vomit.

Off the road quickly, then, come one.

[and he drags her off of the streets and onto the sidewalks, ready to support her if she needs it. Fortunately, her hair is up, or he'd have hair-holding-up duty]

[She pauses, braces herself against a garden wall, and battles the nausea. Because god, she is drunk. Disgustingly, miserably drunk, and now that she's not surrounded by the Plane and its stars and fucked upness she is starting to wonder what in god's name she was thinking. And then remembers that she wasn't. Right.

She makes a slight urk, noise, then shakes her head.] I'm all right.

[not letting go of her quite yet]

My flat's only a couple blocks down from here.

[That's good, because the shaking of the head? SO not a good idea. She really, really hates being in public like this. It's humiliating and disgraceful and, she thinks, no more than she deserves at the moment. She needs to stop twice more (the second time she actually does throw up, despite her best efforts to prevent it) before they get to his building.]

[fortunately, his flat is on the first floor, so it's easy to get her inside. And today is a broken-lock day, too, so there's no trouble there! But as they get inside, Sam hasn't quite let go of Misaki yet, perhaps afraid she'll fall over when he does]

[She makes a noise that may be a comment on the broken lock and may just be a general noise of alcohol-driven Disgust With The World.] I won't break you know.

[The words slip into each other like amateur ice-skaters on an unpolished rink.]

[thankfully, he has practice in learning to understand Drunken Slur]

You might sick up on my carpet, though. And that's something I'd rather not have happen. Where do you want to be? I'll give you the bed for the night.

[She would shake her head again, but that way leads to badness.] I'm not going to impose. I shouldn't even be here. God.

It's fine. Stop moving your head. Sit.

[and he pushes her down to sit on his bed]

[Okay well, fine then. She winces. Again. And then lays down and stares at the ceiling.]

On your side. Don't tell me you've never been hammered before.

[and he goes to grab her a pot to throw up in and a towel to put under it, in case she misses. Round two of getting things involves Sam trying to find a clean glass for water. Sadly, bottled water is not particularly common in '73, so now he's trying to find something suitable for her to get refills from]

Very well then, I won't tell you. [She mutters it, but rolls onto her side anyway.]

[looks at her, surprised - even Sam has gotten hammered! - and then he sits by her and tries to tug off her shoes]

Drink lots. If you need me, call me. I wake up easy enough. Not sure what to do to keep you from rolling back...

[Yes well, he's living in 1973 and is Gene's best friend. It's sort of unavoidable. Misaki has only ever been tipsy before, thanks to Kanami spiking her punch. She makes an irritated noise and sits up slowly to try and take off her own damn shoes. She makes it about half-way before needing to use that pot by the bed.]

[Sam politely looks away and tries to ignore the noise]

[She shivers and collapses back onto the bed again, curling up into a small ball of person who wants the world to go away and possibly never come back.]

[throws his blanket over her, then the comforter, and then the quilt (it's winter and it gets cold in his flat, okay?) and he lights up the fireplace with a sigh]
