[Hei and Misaki are at the bar, because apparently that the Place To Be for disfunctional couples. But they aren't hanging all over each other, flirting, kissing, or talking about the kids. They are sitting as far apart as possible while still remaining in the same space. Misaki sits in a booth, flushed, staring into space. Hei is at the bar facing the opposite direction, drink in hand. Bandaged hand; he appears to have torn it up rather badly.

[She sits up, glaring at him again.] What do you want me to do? And don't say have breakfast or drink something. I mean it, Sam, what do you want from me?

I want to help you with your hangover. I don't know that I can do much else for the root cause.

[Damnit Sam, you're supposed to ask for something unreasonable so she can be mad at you. She just... sits there for a second, before getting out of bed and going to sit at the little table where they sat and planned the Great Battle Against the Masters.]

[much betters. ...Oh shit, the eggs, Sam just destroyed them. So Sam puts a rather tall glass of water in front of Misaki, and then he starts scrubbing out his frying pan to get the burned bits off so he can cook another thing of eggs]

[Misaki will drink the water. Not because Sam wants her to, but because GOD. SHE IS DYING OF THIRST. So by the time he's cleaned the burned bits off the water is gone and Misaki is busy staring into space again, thinking about water. Because thinking about water is not thinking about anything important.]

[he refills the water and returns to butter-in-the-pan and eggs-also-there, leaving her to her watery thoughts]
