[Ray is on the plane, looking his usual pleasant self. what is he doing, you might ask? ...he's removing the stitches from his face. so he's pretty much sitting at a table, with a mirror, snipping the threads and ripping them out one handed, since he still has an arm in a sling]

Fuckin'...

[he growls (in a way), and yanks out another stitch, wincing a bit as it catches] Shit.

[Ray peers up, and pulls on a grin] Just a fight, luv. Nothin' you need to be worryin' 'bout.

{She walks closer, shaking her head} But it hurts, doesn't it?

Like gettin' slapped by an angry woman. [he peers into the mirror again to cut another stitch] 's nothin' a bit of painkiller won't fix.

...{Frowns} Would you like a little help, though? I could at least take them out for you a bit more...um, gently.

I'd appreciate it. 's a right pain doin' it one handed.

{Smiles, holding her hand out for the scissors}

I can't promise that it'll be painless, but it won't hurt quite as much, at least.

[he passes them over] I'll be fine. Ain't like it's gonna leave me writhin' in pain. [he smirks. in his head, the idea of ANYONE flailing and crying over some torn stitches is actually rather hilarious]

{She places one of her hands delicately on the opposite side of his face, snipping another stitch and starting to pull it carefully}

Well, I don't really like hurting people, so...Well, not anymore at least.

Don't mind it meself. [Ray shrugs] So long as you ain't rippin' my face open, luv, it don't make a difference.

Oh, I wouldn't do that, I promise. Don't you think the people here would be mad at me if I did that?

{She laughs a little, but starts on the next one}

I know that Sam would, anyways.

Might, might not. Chris'd get upset, I know.

[and Sam, well, he has to think on Sam]

The Boss? Dunno. Might assume I were the one what made you do it.

They definitely would! I made a promise, after all, and a lot of people are hoping that I'll keep it. It'd disappoint them.

{And she pauses}

Really? Would Sam really do that?

Aye, he would, darlin'. Pr'olly say sommat like it were my winnin' personality what did it. Or just I brought it on meself.

{Sighs} I guess I could see Sam saying that...But I apologize on his behalf. Even if he means well, I don't think it's deserved, really. I mean, Ray seems like a nice enough person.

{Out comes a stitch, which she places on the table} I mean, nice enough for me to not mind doing this for you.

No need to apologise for him. I gotta deal with the git daily, 'm used to it.

[he would nod, but he doesn't want to be poked with scissors] Right grateful for it. Only other person who mighta offered woulda been Chris, and knowin' the div, I'd end up missin' an eye.

Oh, but I feel like I should at least say something. I really care for Sam, but I'm afraid that his words will get him in trouble, you know? He worries so much about other people, but I swear, he doesn't worry at all for himself.

{She laughs a little}

Try not to hit him too hard, at least? Well, assuming that you do. It seems like that's the kind of place Sam works.

{She snips a few more, starting to pull those carefully} You're quite welcome. I'm hardly a doctor, but stitches I can do. I've had to take out more than I'd like to admit.

[Ray laughs a bit] I'll try not to, alright, luv? Usually don't hit the Boss anyway. Only done it... [he pauses to think] once or twice. Sommat like that.

Know a lot of people who get into fights?

{Cheerfully} Thank you! I know that Gene does, so I worry for Sam.

Oh, not that I know a lot. I get into a lot myself, or at least I used to. It helps me regenerate if I lose something big. Like an arm or something, if I sew that back on, then I at least don't have to grow the whole thing back.

Eh, the Guv isn't gonna do anythin' too bad to him.

[watch as Ray totally allows that to go over his head. he is much more content to pretend Diva is nice and normal. and pretend he forgot 'vampire' except on the whole 'don't piss her off' thing] Sounds like a right pain, all that.

That's what they both say, but Sam seems like a fragile person, doesn't he?

{Nods} It is, but it's not a big deal. I have a really high pain tolerance now, so that doesn't bother me at all.

The Boss can hold his own. [Ray crosses his arms] Don't recommend underestimatin' him.

[then he just goes back to his normal state of perpetual smirk and smug] Know what you mean. Been in enough scraps that... 's like just turnin' it off, yeah? Don't notice it hurts 'less you're thinkin' 'bout it.

Ne, it's exactly that! So I guess this doesn't really hurt at all for Ray, if that's the case. {And with that, she starts on the last few}

Not much. 's annoyin', but I can think of other stuff.
