{Diva is dressed up in the kimono that Amaterasu gave her, and with light makeup to match. She's sitting at a vanity that she's brought to the plane, trying to put her hair up carefully}

Ne, I knew that being in a show was a lot of hard work, but I had no idea that they wouldn't have any proper make-up and hair stylists until the actual performance. It's been such a long time since I've had to do this myself.

{And she tries to pin it in place, but it all falls back down, which she frowns at}

Oh, it's not working at all! I'm really happy to have the part in Madama Butterfly, but...it's hard. Does anyone here know how to put this up better? And maybe teach me too.

Bet I could have gotten you to walk back naked if I didn't remind you. That would have been hysterical.

Hmm, probably, I guess. I don't really mind being naked, though. I'm very comfortable with this body.

[mercwamouth]

Bet it's just like clothes for you, so you don't feel naked even when you are.

You only really feel naked when you're like that.

[madamemoiselle]

...I guess that's true.

{She pulls on the kimono carefully}

But it's not really because this body is like clothes to me. It's because, ah...I guess it's because I've never really valued my body at all. Neither one. It just regenerates or it's just something I can use, so I don't really care. But that's getting a little better. I'm not a "thing", after all.

[mercwamouth]

I kinda used to feel the same way, but it's one of those "You don't know what you got till it's gone" kind of things.

[madamemoiselle]

Well, that's odd, though, isn't it? I mean, it'll only go away once we die, right?

[mercwamouth]

Well, I've died a lot, but that's not quite what I meant. I used to hate the way I look, but one day Loki changed it. Cursed me. I suddenly looked normal. I didn't know who I was anymore. It was horrible.

It's good to have a sense of self.

[madamemoiselle]

Really? That makes sense, though. I guess it's the same reason that I don't really like to take other peoples' faces. Well, not that I can anymore, but it always didn't feel right.

{She nods, starting to tie the obi}

[mercwamouth]

Where'd your standard body come from?.

[madamemoiselle]

Oh, that...? That's a silly story. You don't want to hear that.

[mercwamouth]

If you didn't want me to hear it, you shouldn't have called it a "silly story". I like silly stories. Come on.

[madamemoiselle]

{She laughs a little, shaking her head}

Well, it was really only two things I really "picked". I wanted to look human, like Amshel and Joel, so I had a human form even when I was little. But I decided that I wanted long black hair because when I was in the tower, my favorite thing to blow in the window were feathers. So a raven's feather, it blew in, and I really liked the color, so I had lots of black hair because of that. Then my eyes, well, the roses that grow in the tower, they're blue. I figured out later that they're blue because of my blood, but I wanted my eyes to be that same color.

[mercwamouth]

That's actually pretty cute. Why did the roses turn blue?

[madamemoiselle]

Mm, well, because they "drank" my blood. There were always roses in that tower, but as they got closer to the top, towards my room, they started to turn blue when they bloomed. Instead of having water, I mean, they sucked up my blood all over the floor, so they would turn blue because of that.

{She laughs} But even though that's an odd thing, they're still my favorite flower. I grow them in my own little garden.

[mercwamouth]

So vampire blood turns plants blue? Huh. Now there's something you'd never hear on Martha Stewart.

[madamemoiselle]

Well, just mine. Sister's doesn't. Amshel never really knew why, but I figured it didn't matter. If there's something toxic that Joel put in my blood, after all, I've been alive since, so it's not a big deal.

[mercwamouth]

Well, since it doesn't actually kill the flowers, I doubt it's a toxin. Maybe something that screws with DNA.

Maybe you're a radioactive vampire.

[madamemoiselle]

...A what?

[mercwamouth]

Not entirely sure about the specifics, but I'm pretty sure it's green glowy stuff that gives you superpowers and whatnot.

[madamemoiselle]

Ah, well I've never seen anything like that, so I must not be whatever that is!
