[Toph is sitting on the Plane and leaning back against Appa, who is curled up and munching some hay. Toph is fiddling with a chunk of what looks like some kind of black metal. She's holding it between her hands and metalbending it into various shapes--a star, a square, a snake, and a miniature Appa. Appa lets out a rumble.]

I know, I'm still working on it. Space earth is weird.

Well, I have become a little awesome with a sword. Maybe it's time I tested my skills against a bender.

Heh...then let's go.

[Gets to her feet and drops from the Plane for a moment. She comes back with a massive section of earth.]

[Takes out his space sword.]

I'm waiting.

[Smirks and slides a foot forward, then makes a sort of chopping motion with her hands, downward and at an angle. Two slabs of earth shoot up at an angle at Sokka from the sides.]

[Leaps up and sits on top of them when they crash together]

You don't have to go easy on me.

[Is already sliding her foot around and backwards--a third slab is shooting at the back of his head before he's finished speaking.]

[BONK! On the ground, but still conscious.]

[Now just kicks up a rock and launches it at him.] Done already?

[Lifts his head and sees the rock flying just in time to roll out of the way and throw his boomerang at Toph. He then starts to charge toward her]

Note to self: Toph doesn't have an Easy Mode.

[Raises a wall of rock in front of her to deflect the boomerang and starts shooting more rocks at Sokka.]

[Barely dodges the first one, slides under the next one, and rolls away from another one. He's close enough to where the boomerang landed to grab it, and he does, but his shift in attention makes him get hit in the head with another rock. He's still standing though, and relatively close to Toph's wall.]

[So she shatters the ground beneath his feet, hoping to make him lose his balance.]

[And he does! But he catches himself in a roll and what luck! Now he's at Toph's flank! Sword thrust!]

[Dodges and makes a sweeping motion across the ground with her foot. The earth he's standing on suddenly shifts violently to the side.]

Not bad, sword guy.

[Shifts off with the earth, but plants a hand on the ground to keep his balance.]

I thought I was the boomerang guy.

[Throws his boomerang again, this time curving to hit Toph from her side.]

You can be b--whoa!

[Raises another wall just in time to deflect it, and as soon as the boomerang is ricocheting off she's launching bits of the wall at Sokka.]

[Dodge, dodge, and then Sokka gets the idea that maybe he can deflect the rock with his sword. It should be strong enough right?]

[Well it is!]

[But he's not.]

[He is thrown back by the rock and is on his back with the rock on his chest.]

[And Toph raises a few spikes of rocks around him, effectively trapping him in a cage. Then she dusts off her hands.]

Gotta admit, you're getting pretty good with that.

[Rolls over in a bit of pain]

Not good enough I guess.

Could I have my boomerang back?

Sure.

[Drops the spikes back beneath the earth.]

[Gets up, brushing off the dirt on his clothes, and then grabs his boomerang]

[Surprise! Throws his boomerang at her again]

[Spike of rock shoots up and the boomerang embeds itself in the rock, a few inches from Toph's face.]

...Heh.
