044: Death and All His Friends

[contract_star]

[Hei appears on the Plane in a simple wooden chair, his wrists zip-tied together behind the back. He seems to be unconscious, slumped forward in the chair, hair hanging in his face. He looks half-dead--battered and bruised and dusty. Blood is drying at his hairline and near his nose.]

[A moment goes by, and then he opens his eyes and sits up rather abruptly, shaking his head and sighing in annoyance. It's clear that while he's obviously been in a fight, it's not as bad as it first looked. He looks around the Plane.]

...Mostly according to plan...sort of.

[Sighs and sits back down, resting for a moment.]

[Leans against the counter.] How long do you plan on staying here?

[contract_star]

A few minutes, just to get ready.

[ghostlighter]

You sure? You know as well as I do that time doesn't pass here.

[contract_star]

True, but it passes for me. I don't want to leave her there any longer than I have to.

[ghostlighter]

Point. ... but you won't do much good if you're tired.

[contract_star]

I'm not tired. I got plenty of sleep beforehand. [Sort of...]

[ghostlighter]

You look like it.

[Not.]

[contract_star]

[ghostlighter]

Just... try not to get yourself killed, alright? For Henrietta's sake.

[contract_star]

[Blinks at him.] I--of course. I know.

[ghostlighter]

[SHRUG.] Good.
