[Question! How many Bai Tza's does it take to change a Lightbulb? A valid question, given the way that Bai is standing, looking very confused and examining a lightbulb like it's about to bite her.

Yes, she's not good at this sort of thing
] How...? This...? Where...?

[Growl and stomp] How do I actually use this infernal device? It makes no sense!

[Grumble] At least I vaguely understood candles.

...you don't understand how to use a lightbulb?

[Watching this scene. Out of boredom.]

[identity profile] solvethemystery.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
You're missing the socket, of course.

[identity profile] solvethemystery.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Feigning surprise.] You have never seen a lightbulb?

[identity profile] solvethemystery.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[Attempt to grab it from you for explanation time, Y/N?]

[Going to make a light snack out of this. He hasn't researched the operation of a lightbulb, so it's like a small mystery! Taking it and gesturing first to the part you twist into the socket.] From it's design, you can see that it fits into a socket.

[Then pointing to the filament inside.] The socket produces electricity when it's switch is triggered, heating the filament until it produces light. The bulb- [Taps the outside of it.] -keeps out the oxygen, otherwise it would destroy the filament inside, making it more useless than a mere candle-flame.

A thread of metal used to convert the energy into light.

[identity profile] solvethemystery.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[Puts on a "friendly" smile.] Of course!

[He is dismantling the lightbulb now and removing the filament.] They really are simple-- ahh, but if you've never seen one before, might I ask what kind of power your world operates on?

[identity profile] solvethemystery.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Interesting. [Puts on his 8D face again.] Your country must not have them! Sensai and I met many foreigners- which one are you from?

[identity profile] solvethemystery.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I see! Such an interesting world, you come from!

Nooooo, not fail! <3

[identity profile] solvethemystery.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course! To have trouble mastering such a simple device- teacher would have called you a mindless slug, but I can understand how challenging it must be!

I do it too D:

[identity profile] solvethemystery.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
My teacher, Miss Yako, said that people who can't figure out how lightbulbs work should be forced to study until their brains are screaming in protest from the effort. So harsh, Sensai, yet she truly is an amazing teacher~~~~ [Laughs. Like he means it.]

IT IS JUST BEING TEMPERAMENTAL. T_T

[identity profile] solvethemystery.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Oho! She is a great investigator, but none here have heard tell of her many accomplishments! Such obliviousness sends her into a rage like no other! [8D] Perhaps sometime, when you have a mystery of your own, you will get the chance to witness Sensai hard at work!

*SHUNS IT*

[identity profile] solvethemystery.livejournal.com 2008-11-09 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
I tried to tell her, but she insisted. "If she protests, she's too short sighted to see her own ignorance"... is what Sensai said.

[Doesn't answer that last part- if any arise in your world, he's sure you wouldn't know about them ahead of time. 8|b]

Feel free to refer to her as a pig, if you must. To her, there can be no greater honour!

[identity profile] sifud.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
...what is it?

[identity profile] aimania.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh! That's a light bulb. It screws into lamps. But you could use candles if you want to. We use candles!
