{There's only so much you can do/study whilst waiting for your (mostly) wonderful plan of a society's collapse to fall into place. So! Dietrich comes to the Plane, sitting at a table with a smile charming enough to melt any girl's heart. Or boy, if you swing that way.}

You know, I realize that a few generous people offered to let me borrow some of their literature or technology to study, but I've taken up only a few of those offers. So if anyone here wouldn't mind lending me a book or some item from their world for a short time, I would greatly appreciate the gesture.

{A pause, then he figures explaining it now would save his breath later,} Ah, but I suppose explaining the "why" part would be useful. You see, contrary to most people here, my world is one of limited technology and literature. It seems to be the future for most, the year 3073, but 900 years ago there was a war that pretty much destroyed the world, knowledge quite included. I'm something of a researcher for these things, we call them "Lost Technology", so I'm obviously quite interested in seeing what other worlds have to offer...

{Then nodding to the short stack of books on the table} I also have a few books for Miss Ryoko, if you're here.

[Oh hai] Really? That's awful. But what about those puppet-fighters you can make?

Ah, I might have some things...not fancy things, but I could try and find some? What kinds of 'Lost Technology' did you want?

iconfail ._.

[Ponders... and then vanishes and reappears, frowning. She has some books about history and politics that Crowley bought for her, as well as a stack of adventure books.] Um. I don't know if these will be very useful. Most of them are made-up stories.

[identity profile] fireintothesky.livejournal.com 2008-11-17 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
In...? Oh no, that's all right.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I think I might be locked out of the TARDIS right now, but when I get the keys back, I'll snatch up a few books for you. Though it goes against the Prime Directive. Ahh, well.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
There are a few upsides to having all time and space at your disposal. By the way, how've you been? It seems your little game with the TARDIS did you little harm.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Did that wolf-goddess thing try to kill you? She refused to leave me alone at all after Self and I killed Hei. Dreadfully annoying. I hope some of your work is at least interesting.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I hope backstabbing has been involved. There's nothing like a little treachery inserted into a friendship.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
All of that, and you didn't even have to puppet it? That's convenient. I can never really tell if I prefer staging a show or just sitting in the audience.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Nice for relaxing, though. Over popcorn or a cup of tea or that sort of thing.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, supervisors are always throwing fits. Never leave anything up to hope, though. You can lose entire planets that way.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds like a conflict of interests to me. I would have expected that supervisors like yours wouldn't hesitate to remove anyone interfering.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing like a few Biblical parallels to top off the day, is there? And you're sure you don't want to just go around and kill the man anyway? For the greater good and all that.

[identity profile] savagestime.livejournal.com 2008-11-14 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Fair enough, I suppose. As long as they're not insufferable, anyway.

[identity profile] gusadere.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Nods quickly then disappears from the Astral Plane for a few moments, returning swiftly carrying a somewhat large and non-descript cardboard box, filled with multiple hardcover books - eerily fancy ones. Leather bound covers, gold-edged pages, all first editions and ranging from classic literature to science to children's stories. Bitch don't mess around with her information, ya dig?]

I hope I didn't keep you waiting, Dietrich-san. It took longer than I anticipated to get some of these.

((Delayed fail!mun is delaaaaayed plz forgive me :<))

[identity profile] gusadere.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Just tell me if you need anything else! We're very willing to cooperate~

[If it were anyone else, there would probably be a fangirl squee right here.] They're more impressive than you think! Being able to find out what happened in your reality without having to merge with it... It certainly saves me plenty of time! Not to mention seeing your research should be very interesting~

[identity profile] gusadere.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Was it too much? I'm sorry! I guess I'm too used to going overboard with my decisions~ [Flips through one of the books, eyes already scanning the pages.] Oh, you don't owe me a thing, Dietrich-san! But... If you feel that way, I have a better idea~

Thank you very much! Are you sure you don't mind? You said one of these was a personal journal...

[identity profile] gusadere.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Why surprised? I take my job seriously after all. [Giggles and closes book she was reading.] I've been meaning to look into something, but only having one unit gathering the data is far too insufficient. Yet, at the moment there appears to be no other way to acquire it except manually! It's woefully inconvenient! [Slight pouty face goes here. DAMNIT I WANTS MY DATA NOW ;A;]

As long as you're okay with it.

[identity profile] gusadere.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Asking the people involved first-hand, mostly. It's too tedious for what I'm curious about.

[identity profile] gusadere.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm already working on that! [:D] It's something else. A person I met mentioned "the Machine breaking", and that it doing so all but destroyed their realities. You would think that something so strange would be looked into, but no one investigated it! Even if the Twins said nothing, it sounds like a wonderful challenge! It shouldn't be that hard to figure it out for oneself!

So - I want to.

[identity profile] gusadere.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh bb ;D] That's exactly what I was thinking! Two units working in tandem is a far better alternative than working separately! With these circumstances, it won't be long before phenomena start lining up for us! [Puts hands on the table and leans over to get all up in your personal spaces and :D at.] Does this mean you agree with me, Dietrich-san?

[identity profile] gusadere.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Interesting? I've been called worse~ [GLEE! Cue 90-degrees bow this time.] Thank you very much! I hope I'm good enough to work alongside you.

[identity profile] gusadere.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Those people don't know how wonderful an opportunity this is! It's a human trait for them to take things for granted, but even so!

[identity profile] gusadere.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
.......

I wonder, is that what constitutes the phrase "ignorance is bliss"?

[identity profile] gusadere.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
As do I! Those who are guilty of ignorance are just as guilty as everyone else, if not moreso!
