[Lucy appears on the Plane, bed and closet in tow. she's currently folding some clothes neatly into a designer luggage set, humming quietly to herself and sort of bouncing on her toes while she works. the TARDIS was being annoying again -- really, she couldn't very well do anything when the horrible machine kept closing the closet doors on her (when she was in it) -- so she's opted to do her work on the Plane. makes it easier to transport, anyway, since she intends on some of these clothes going to the Fortress of Awesome. she also has some curtains and such set aside to make the Fortress a bit more homey. it's sort of what she does. there may or may not also be a smaller travelling bag sitting off to the side, still empty, but she's been eyeing it as she packs]

I really do need to make another shopping run. It's all just the same clothes as usual. How terribly dull.

When was the last time you went ice skating?

[mmmm, David Morrisey...]

I ... don't remember. Before I married Harry, surely. I think I was in Italy, but I ... I can't remember.

Too long, then.

River Thames, 1863. Heaviest frost in recorded history until 2333. Thames froze up, and the whole city had a party.

[offers her his hand] You know, while we're living life in the moment.

[hesitates before placing her hand in his] I don't suppose you'd take no for an answer even if I tried?

Would you really want to? Biggest ice skating rink in your history and you could be on it. Lucy, a part of history.

No, I guess I wouldn't. [still, she seems hesitant, since this is the Doctor and she's supposed to not want to go places with him] This is also assuming I can even see it. Though ... even if it's just a pond somewhere in my reality, it can still be a nice little jaunt, right?

[considers] Is the Thames a pond on your Earth?

Oh goodness no. It's definitely a river. I'm still just not sure how this whole ... realities thing works. Though I suppose since I do come from Earth, it would have to be the same, yes? Either way, it's an historical fact. I have to be able to visit it. It might just be slightly different, I assume.

Well, we'll have to see, won't we? Have a little fun while the chemistry set's cooking.

When the results come back from the tissue samples, you can also be the first to know.

[laughs quietly] I never thought I'd consider spending time with you 'fun.' But very well. Take me ice skating, Doctor.

[considers him, then smiles] That's not needed by ... thank you.

[thank you?] What for? Haven't even got you there yet!

[rolls her eyes] Not for the skating. For being willing to tell me the results of your little experiment. I didn't think you'd trust me with that knowledge. Aren't you afraid I'll just tell Harry?

[considers this for a moment, then shrugs] I think you've had enough people decide who you are from who you've been associated with. Especially that other me's TARDIS, it sounds like.

I trust you.

[that catches her by surprise and she draws back a little, almost removing her hand from his] Oh. Well. [looks away] That makes sense, I suppose. Of course it makes sense. [quick, turn it around on him!] What makes your ship so different then, that it doesn't hate me? Because you don't?

Maybe? Maybe not. I don't think he hates you, the other me. But our TARDISes have lived through different things, seen different worlds. Maybe my TARDIS just saw you in a different way.

[frowns, thinking through that, and nods weakly] Maybe.

[sits in her thoughts a bit before snapping out of it, forcing a smile] Well, that's neither here nor there, really. Come on. Let's get this over with.

[half-bounce] Yes! Ice-skating and touring. Had whole shops built along the river just for buying and selling food, memorabilia, extra clothes for warmth. It was like a city all on its own, Thames was.

[you are way too energetic, Ten] I could use some new clothes... [glances at her luggage and all the suits and jackets she's got on the bed] And visiting Earth's past isn't as big a step as another planet. It isn't like you can get me killed skating on the ice, right? Just a calm, relaxing trip, that's all. Nothing more than that.

[it's the hair, it's high enough to collect energy particles from the atmosphere] Something of the period, of course. I'm sure there's something in the wardrobe room. And you know how people are here. This'll still be here when you get back.

Yeah, well, that's always the plan!

[like his own personal brain storm] I've never worn anything from that time. It seems I'm getting the chance to wear fashions I never considered before, knowing you. And I know it will be, I'm not worried about that.

Perhaps you can stick to the plan this time, then?

[brain storm lol!] Right, well, best be off, then. Trying something new, and re-trying something we haven't done in a while.

And I'll do my best. [mini-salute!]

[bows] I'll meet you at your TARDIS, then? Park it near a cafe or something that I can find. It'll make it easier.
