[Walking around, feeling very uncomfortable and yet unable to hide his curiosity. Still, he's trying to act as normal as possible should anyone come along, with a lax posture and hands in his pockets. He squints as he examines a swirling galaxy in the distance, before thoughtfully tapping the "floor". Thinking he might as well try getting a hold of somebody, Dexter fixes on a smile and tries calling out.]

Hello? [pauses to listen]

[cups a hand next to his mouth] Don't suppose someone could lend me a map of this place!

[thinks for a minute] "Conservative" is the technical opposite, but I guess you could call them "narrow-minded."

Oh, so that's what that means. I've heard people say that before, but I always thought they meant literally, you know? {She laughs a little}

Ah, expressions like that are hard to remember. English isn't my first language, so especially the expressions are confusing.

[smiles] I can understand how that'd be problematic. Where I live, there are three prominent languages...it's hard to catch everything.

Really? What languages are they? I speak a quite a few languages, so I might know it~

English, Spanish, and a lot of Cuban dialect Spanish.

Oh, Spanish is a very pretty language! Though, I've never heard Spanish from that side of the world. Just in Spain. Coming to New York is the first time I've been outside Europe or Asia, after all. Is it really different?

Yeah, really different. The Spanish from Spain is called Catalan over in America, to tell the difference between that and South American Spanish.

Is it more like another language altogether? I learned Spanish a long time ago so that I could read the Spanish operas, so mine is probably really old compared to what people speak now.

Oh, but I'm sorry for asking so many questions. There's not a lot that I'm really good at, but I really really love language. They're all so pretty, so it's really fun to learn them.

I don't mind. [continues smiling placidly] Languages haven't ever really been my strong suit, but living in Miami, you pick up a lot.

It's not so different that it's unrecognizable, I think. South American Spanish compared to Catalan, that is.

Miami...Florida, right? I've heard it's really nice down there. Nice, sunny, warm...Ah, I'd like to visit a place like that sometime. Does Dexter like living there?

Hm, then maybe it would be okay. Ah, after New York, I should see if Amshel would take me down there. He mentioned Brazil once, so maybe, maybe~

I do. I'm not really fond of cold weather. Of course, that might be because I've lived in Miami all my life, but. [shrugs] I like the sun and the people. [smirks]

The people in Miami are nice too? If that's true, I should definitely visit sometime.

Well...no. Actually, a lot of people in Miami are obsessed with booze, sex, drugs, and power. So, I can't say they're nice. But I like them.

Oh, then that sounds normal enough for a big city. {She laughs} Or people in general for that matter.

No denying that. The dark underbelly.

It's just how people are. There's good and bad, just some people have a little more of one than the other and it messes things up, you know? Ne, I've gotten to see a lot of it, so I don't really mind that dark side. I don't like it, but it doesn't really bother me anymore.

I think it's sort of...fascinating.

But I guess that's what I do the work I do.

Really? What kind of work do you do?

Blood spatter analysis. I go to murder scenes and figure out how the murder happened by looking at blood left at the scene.

Ooo~ How gruesome! Ne, but that must be interesting too. You can really tell how a person died just based on the blood?
