[Everyone missed the Doctor, right? Of course. But today is a bit different.

You see, he's talking to a plant. The plant is on a metal, rounded picnic table and he brought a tree that appears to be going through autumn and an area of grass with it from whatever planet he was on. But the important part is that he's sitting at the table with a sandwich, eating it and talking to this plant]

You know, you really are brilliant. ...No, really! I mean that. Sane, nice, loves Elvis. Also, you're not violent. You have no idea what a rarity that is these days.

[he shakes his head with a sigh and keeps munching on his sandwich and talking to the plant]

{Looking at the plant curiously} Ne, Doctor, does it talk back?

Probably not, no. Although it could be talking back right now.

...Oh, I see. Um, Doctor, are you feeling alright?

Oh, I imagine I am. Probably. I wouldn't worry about it.

...I would worry about it.

Mmm, I've had a long few weeks. After a while, plants seem like brilliant friends. They won't betray you, don't fight with you, very low maintenance, aren't insane...

{Frowns} Still, talking to plants won't help.

[sighs and puts his hands on the table] I know. Though taking care of it was quite relaxing. Reminded me of when I'd stop by this...rose garden when things got to be too much.

Oh? The Doctor likes roses?

Yep, ever since I was younger. Not my favourite flower, exactly, but a very relaxing one.

Just a second, then! {She drops off the plane for a few moments before returning with a potted rose bush. It's not blooming, but the buds are just barely showing the blue petals} Then here's a gift. At least if you talk to this plant, then you'll remember that a friend gave it to you, right?

[looks surprised but he accepts it with a soft smile] Really? That's...Right, yes. Thank you, Diva. [He sets the pot down on the table and gives her a hug]

{And she's surprised as well, but she smiles brightly as she hugs him back} You're welcome, of course! Ne, if the Doctor is sad enough with people to decide to talk to plants, he needs cheering up, after all.

[he pulls back, shaking his head] It's been a long few years. I think I might just need a holiday. It's a scary thought, really, but even I need them sometimes.

Then you should definitely take one! What kind of place would you go?

Oh, I dunno. The Eye of Orion used to be my favourite spot but maybe somewhere different. There are some lovely resorts out there with glittering waterfalls and things like that.

Ne, I'm sure you know more nice places to relax than anyone else.

Well, I do, I'm just usually too busy to relax. My version of relaxing is a good adventure.
