[There is a ninja somewhere off to the side of the Plane kitchen. Actually, no, he's not a ninja. He's a Time Lord trying to cook in private. And by 'cook' I mean he's having too much fun flipping the pancake to actually cook it properly. That poor pancake. Pity it. It's being juggled in the pan. But he's dragged over enough equipment and ingredients to sit around and try to cook pancakes in what he hopes is a low traffic area.

Side story! He's trying to cook here instead of on his TARDIS because there was a chance the Master would come in raiding for scones and ruin his amazing cooking process. Blame the Master for everything.

So there you have it. A cooking Doctor]

But there are probably some mean ones, right? [Looking for a fork to try the pancake~]

[this makes him blink] I suppose there are, yeah.

[Om nom pancake? It's not bad!] You could probably kill those ones and no one would notice. People don't usually care when bad people disappear.

[Exsqueeze me? His brain just halted] What? well, no, you can't just...that's really not a solution.

[Pauses with the fork in her mouth.] Why not? It works.

[he's blinking at her] Yes but it's not-- Are you a battle cyborg?

[Sucks pancake off the fork while considering this.] I guess so. Most of the time it's assassinations though.

Ah. [well, that's certainly a mood change] Why?

[Have an innocently oblivious look while she takes another politely-sized bite of pancake.] Why what?

[he leans against the counter, arms crossed, surprisingly neutral!] Why do you assassinate people?

[Frown. She looks down at the pancake.] Why does everyone keep asking me that?

Because usually that's something to have to ask yourself. 'Do I have the right?' and 'Why am I doing this?'

It's why they made us. We can't do anything else. [Poking at the pancake with her fork.]

[frowns a little at that] I doubt that's true. I'm sure you could do all sorts of things. Cook! You can make spaghetti! That's a start. You don't have to choose the life you're given.

But we don't get to choose. Conditioning says what we have to do. It says what we're for.

'Conditioning'? Don't think I like the sound of that. What sort of conditioning?

[Pokepoke pancake. Not looking at him.] It's just conditioning. We all get it. It's part of being in a fratello.

[No pancake can hide you] So they take away your choices until you think there's nothing else you can do.

[Nooooo...! A little defensively,] It makes us what they need us to be.

[nods] Right, what they need you to be. But what about you? What are your interests?

[Insert silence and pancake-poking here.]

...I like being with Signore Jose. I don't need to like anything else.

[curiously]

Signore Jose? A friend?

[Blushing] He's my fratello.

Oh, he's your brother? Does he take care of you?

He's... not really my brother. He does take care of me though.
