On the Road Again...

[mercwamouth]

[Four people are picking their way through the darkness, following a glowing bubble of gold and blue light. The light runs along a wire held by Mu, who is walking at the front, glowing gold. Next is Hei, who is glowing blue and looks pale--he's hallucinating badly. Last comes Deadpool, sans his usual red outfit and mask, his skin covered in scars and tumors, carrying a limp Misaki.]

Just stay awake Misaki, alright? No falling asleep. We're almost there.

Li... [She's not really coherent at this point, wax pale and sweating, her eyes open but not seeming to register anything in front of them.] What happened...?

That's not Li, Misaki, that's Hei. She doesn't seem like she's getting much better.

[Ignoring Deadpool and responding to Misaki] You're injured, likely in shock. I can't see well enough to tell.

We're heading for the b-- [Hei pauses and stumbles a bit before catching himself, forcing himself to focus.] --the ballroom. I think.

Heard about that place. Sounds like a good place to go. Shelter and clothes. Probably other guys too.

So how do we find this place? Everything looks the same and we can't really see well to boot.

I'm following my intuition.

...You really are a woman.

...

[Weak chuckle.] Don't underestimate a Saint.

[She stirs briefly, glaring at nothing in particular. She certainly sounds coherent.] Calling him a woman is hardly underestimating him, Hei. [Blink.] Where did the sky go?

[Smiles to himself.] Didn't...mean it that way, Misaki. [Stumbles again and briefly rubs his forehead.] The stars went out. But they'll be back. And until then we've got some light. [The glow around his outline intensifies a fraction.]

...Anyone know any traveling songs?

[ooc: Believe it or not, this was a pain in the butt to arrange]

[Pushes Deadpool out of the way and drags Misaki onto the ground, pushing his head against her chest.] Her heart is going at least. [Plugs her nose and gives her a few puffs of air]

[... What? No, no no no no... All he can do is stand in the doorway and watch now, almost frozen to the spot.] M-Misaki-san?

Damn! Hei, her heart is irregular. Can you give her a shock?

[Not letting go, so he goes to the floor with her. Everything is scrambled and shimmering and shifting and someone somewhere is screaming.]

[Wait. That's in his head.]

[And Nanoha's words now, "if you couldn't protect them, and the got hurt..." ringing through like a voice over a bad speaker.]

[Something is wrong.]

[The screaming is forming words now, "wake up, wake up, wake up, you can help her, you couldn't before but you can now if you just WAKE UP."]

[The hallucination cracks and shatters, and faster than blinking Hei is shoving the others aside.]

Move.

[He lays his hand on Misaki's chest and opens his mind fully, sensing the tiny electric impulses coursing through Misaki's body, weak, failing. Then he closes his eyes and jolts her.]

[Jerks sharply. It's nothing dramatic; she doesn't gasp and sit upright, doesn't snap suddenly awake. Her heartbeat steadies and there's a whisper of air in her lungs, but she's out cold.]

[mercwamouth]

...Well that's a nifty trick, Spock. Good to have you back.

Think Misaki's gonna be alright, Mu?

[Give him a minute to get over the dlkfhdskfn of all this, but then he finally says something.]

Do you think... we should move her into the ballroom?

I think we should - I cannot comment as to her condition - I'm hardly a doctor, and I cannot heal injuries that aren't there.

Ryoutarou, do you have pillows or blankets?

[That last jolt did it. Hei has enough energy left to make sure she's alive and breathing. Then he passes out, still holding her hand.]

[Deadpool looks kinda serious-like at the two unconscious ones holding hands]

While we're at it we should look at some clothes and maybe figure out the food situation.

[Ryotarou glances between them and nods quietly.] A few... I'll go get them. [glances to Deadpool] There are some clothes in the ballroom, I think... and there's some food here, but it's not much. [And now he's ducking out to go get the blankets and stuff.]

Deadpool, take Misaki, I'll take Hei. There will be more space in the ballroom to lie them out.

[mercwamouth]

Roger, roger.

...Or would it be "Mu, Mu"?

...Hehe, "Mumu"...

[Lifting Hei onto his back, gives Deadpool A LOOK]

[mercwamouth]

[Hesitates a minute, but then slowly picks up Misaki and carries her]

[Is in the ballroom with sleeping bags and pillows. At the moment, he's setting them up. And if you're wondering where Deneb is during all this... that's really a very good question.]

[He's probably running around like a headless chicken]

[Waits until Ryoutarou finishes then lies Hei down gently, and sits down heavily nearby]

[mercwamouth]

[Sets down Misaki next to Hei. Puts some unzipped sleeping bags over them like comforters. Slides a couple of pillows under their heads]

Right. Now I could really use some clothes.

[Sits off to the side a bit, and motions over to the racks of renaissance clothing for Deadpool before looking over to Misaki.]

The truck is in your mind Misaki. You've still got some poison in you. Save your strength.
