06 - Out of Patience

[Ragnar explodes onto the plain in a blast of snow and visible gray wind. Related as they are to time itself, he's been having very little luck getting anywhere on the roads--and now he's been spat out again, this time on the plane, completely under their influence. He's slightly larger even than last time, his proportions more stocky, his teeth longer, his coat more thick and tangled than ever. His pupils are dilated with anger and the pull of the road; he chuffs, and then snarls, rearing back on his hind legs and slamming his paws against the astral floor.]

[And Ragnar skids to a halt, standing over him, still rumbling a growl.]

[Any hold that Hei had on reality vanishes. It's nothing now but flashing lights, Gate-creatures, the Masters and, of course, Bai, standing of to the side watching everything, her voice cracking and shattering.]

[Hei sort of folds in on himself, still clutching his head, waiting for the Gate-creatures, or perhaps the Masters, to kill him.]

[ And now there's a Nanoha between Ragnar and Hei. She has Raising Heart in staff form, holding the staff out before herself in an effort to shield Hei and hopefully warn the large cat off. ]

Li-san, are you hurt?

[Tugs back in surprise, shifts to one side and tries to circle around behind his downed target.]

[Hei barely registers what's going on--to him it looks like a giant, glowing pink flower has sprouted between himself and the enormous Gate monster. Fortunately the flower seems to have distracted the monster, and that's all he really cares about now.]

[ Nanoha's not happy about this. She can't look away from Ragnar long enough to check on whether Hei is wounded. She moves with the big cat, though, protecting Hei from all sides.

Then, firmly: ] Go away.

[Snarls and loses patience with the little obstacle. He strikes out to smack it aside.]

[ A pink circle of magic expands before Nanoha, and Ragnar's claws cause it to spark, but little else. Nanoha stands her ground and repeats herself. ]

Go. Away.

[There's an interesting light show going on between the pink flower and the Gate monster now, and meanwhile the Masters have their hands on Hei's shoulders and are whispering things in his ears, and Bai is standing nearby with a concerned look on her face as she tries to reach Hei.]

[Although now the pink flower is starting to take on human shape, and the Gate-creature has sprouted shaggy black fur.]

[Snarls and slams against the barrier, first with his shoulder, and then rearing back and hammering down with all his weight, his front paws connecting with the glow.]

[Until he's thrown back by a pair of gold-glowing hands. Should his bulk give way, Nanoha and Hei would see Mu there, sans cloth, but glowing faintly gold all over]

Mu-san! [ Nanoha's happy to see you, Mu. It means she can drop the protection spell long enough to check on Hei. She kneels, taking Hei by the shoulders. ]

Li-san! Are you all right?

[Something shiny and purple and fluffy and vaguely ram-shaped has appeared now. Oh, and a flower shaped like Nanoha has just grabbed his shoulders. Hei flinches away.]

[Nanoha...Ragnar...Plane...right.]

Nano...ha. [She is very slowly starting to come into focus, but there's still a shaggy Gate monster and the Masters.] I'm...alright. Just...it'll pass.

[Hits the plane and rolls too his feet. Confused. The prey has a pack. This explains much. Dominant protector--challenger. He lunges at Mu, rearing onto his hind legs once again coming down hard to wrap his paws around the man in a savage hug.]

[And grabs Rag's foreankles, preventing him from really hurting Mu. Buckles under the sudden weight but stands after a short second, ramping his cosmo up to counter the weight. Then, to Nanoha,]

Get out of here. I don't want either of you hurt.

Li-san... [ Nanoha watches him for a moment, then stands. She doesn't seem to intend to stray from his side any time soon. ]

I'm sorry, Mu-san. I can't leave until Li-san is safe.

[ Raising Heart's staff begins to change into a U-shaped form, the red jewel still in its center. ]

[ The cover on the side of Raising Heart clicks not unlike a gun, firing out two empty cartridge shells, which fall at Nanoha's feet. A pink ring of magic begins to form about her on the Plane floor, and another at the tip of Raising Heart as it gathers energy. ]

I'll need you to move when I ask you to, Mu-san.

[Hei is starting to be able to make sense of things. Nanoha is the flower, which means the Gate monster is Ragnar. Hei isn't sure if the purple fluffy thing is real or not, though if it is, he has an idea of who it is.]

[The rest of the hallucination is taking longer to dissipate.]

Wait...don't...'s Ragnar. He... [But speaking isn't working too well right now, particularly since the words are literally falling out of his mouth and splatting in interesting colors on the Astral floor.]

[Wrenches back, slams to the ground and rams forward again in a headbutt.]

[In the time it took him to readjust, Mu widened his stance and crouched, meeting Rags' face with his hands, clamping around the muzzle to avoid bites.]

Save your energy. I can handle this. Both of you, get out of here.

Ragnar-kun..? [ Nanoha glances over her shoulder at Hei, then looks back to Mu and the black monster-- Ragnar-- who he's wrestling. ]

If this continues, someone will be hurt. Mu-san. Please step aside. Ragnar-kun needs to cool his head a little.

[The trees and Bai shimmer and fade, but the Masters, the Gate monster, and the other things remain. Hei knows what's going on now, but his senses still haven't caught up with his brain.]

[Simm!Master grips Hei by the back of his neck and leans into his ear. "Look at them, Bee-kay. They'll all die. Watch them all die."]

[Hei knows it's just a hallucination, but he can't help but cringe.]

[Thrashes in Mu's grip, wrapping his massive paws around Mu's arms and digging in with his claws, or trying to, the massive black hooks stark against the glow of Mu's skin.]

[Cringes and shoves him away, tiny drops of blood beginning to well up on his arms]

If you continue I've the feeling someone will be hurt. Worry about Li, and let me worry about the cat.

[ She's still there, pink magic rings still spinning about Raising Heart and the sphere of energy building at its tip. She grits her teeth, it's getting harder and harder to hold the spell, but the fact that Mu is now bleeding isn't doing anything to convince her to leave. ] Mu-san. Please.

[Of course Hei is being no help as he tries to work through the hallucination. Nanoha is now Nanoha and the purple, fluffy thing has Mu's face, and Simm!Master is disappearing like smoke. Ainley still has him though, and he has Ragnar's fangs. Hei squeezes his eyes shut.]

Go away, go away, go away, go away...
