06 - Out of Patience

[Ragnar explodes onto the plain in a blast of snow and visible gray wind. Related as they are to time itself, he's been having very little luck getting anywhere on the roads--and now he's been spat out again, this time on the plane, completely under their influence. He's slightly larger even than last time, his proportions more stocky, his teeth longer, his coat more thick and tangled than ever. His pupils are dilated with anger and the pull of the road; he chuffs, and then snarls, rearing back on his hind legs and slamming his paws against the astral floor.]

[Moves as though he's going to circle around Mu--and then suddenly slams in sideways, checking Mu with his shoulder and whipping his head around to try and sink his teeth into the glowing man's face.]

[Mu rolls with the momentum, tucking in his legs and forcing them upwards hard enough to knock Rags head - over - tail and off of him.] Whatever you're doing, do it now.

BUSTER!

[ A gigantic wave of pink literally explodes from Raising Heart, washing the immediate area in intensely bright light as it slams into the berserk Ragnar. ]

[...That's a lot of pink.]

[So much for getting over this hallucination anytime soon~]

[Frozen outline of black for a breath, and then it's as though a giant fist rams into his side and throws him end over end into the air. He crashes to the ground yards away, roaring in pain as he slams down on his back and skids across the plane.]

[Slightly panting,] Remind me never to displease you, Nanoha. [Gets up and books it to Hei, tapping his cheek lightly.] Are you with us?

[ Nanoha readjusts her grip on Raising Heart, breathing heavily. She keeps an eye on Ragnar, not trusting him to stay down. ]

Ne, Li-san, are you all right?

[Flinches backward from the touching, though he has nowhere to go since the Master is still beside him.]

Ragnar...

[The Gate creature shimmers and flickers and suddenly it's Ragnar again. The Master's voice is getting more and more distant. Mu is now a bipedal purple sheep. Although everything now is bathed in faint pink light.]

Sorry...I... [Rubs at his eyes, trying to dispel the last of the hallucination.]

[Still stunned and hopelessly dizzy. He tries and fails to drag himself to his feet, one of his back legs throbbing in pain, the stars of the plane turning into smears of light every time he moves. A long, low, whine of pain--the prey is unnatural. The prey... The prey... is not...

Lowers his head and rumbles dangerously.]

Just close your eyes until they pass...[Perks up and looks over, then his face darkens] Both of you stay behind me.

Ragnar-kun... He's still... [ Nanoha looks down at her weapon. ] Raising Heart!



[ She frowns, then stands behind Mu, making sure to cover Hei. About all she can do is use some simpler spells now. ] Ne, Mu-san, be careful.

[And the hallucination finally disappears. Hei is left exhausted and ashamed, both that he had the hallucination at all and that he had to be rescued like this.]

Don't...hurt him...

[He's recovered enough to stand, though he's favoring that leg, now, and definitely not going to charge anyone any more. He does pace closer though, in broad zig-zags, baring his teeth every once in a while and growling.]

[Circles as well, keeping himself between Ragnar and the other two]

[ Nanoha stands at the ready, just in case there's anything else she can do. ]

[Hei gets slowly and shakily to his feet, watching Ragnar.]

It's the Road. He's lost himself on it.

[Stops just out of Mu's reach, head lowered, snuffling, calculating, considering point of attack. Standoff? He waits for it to move.]

[NOT SNEAKING IN ANOTHER TAG, WHATEVER DO YOU MEAN?

Ragnar comes in sideways, relying on the weight of his front half to make up for the momentum lost thanks to his injured leg.]

Mu meets the oncoming cat with his hands again, grabbing his muzzle and trying to wrench him to the ground]

[ Nanoha's just watching, worried, and hoping Mu will know when to drop off the Plane and let her take over the protecting if he gets too badly hurt. ]
