[Well. Here's Hei. He appears near the Astral Theater and just sort of stands there for a minute, staring out across the Plane. Eventually he sits down with his back to the wall of the theater, folding his arms on top of his knees. He keeps staring out at Nothing In Particular.

[He looks utterly lost.]

[And Hei is remembering everything the Masters did to him now, and he has nowhere to go, nowhere to run, and a Contractor isn't supposed to be afraid, isn't supposed to be this terrified, but Hei's heart is racing and he's shaking like a leaf, and there's absolutely nothing he can do.]

[the Master places his hands on the wall, on either side of Hei's head, completing the makeshift pinning. then he simply purrs]

Good, because believe me, Mr. Shengshun, we can do things much worse than that.

[Hei can't help it. He squeezes his eyes shut and turns his face away.]

[the Master chuckles and pulls away, but not before patting Hei on the side of the face; lucky man, the Master wears gloves and he's spared those terrible claws]

Do try to keep out of trouble, Hei.

[He jerks violently at the touch and holds his breath, waiting for something worse. When nothing happens he opens his eyes and remembers to breathe. But he can't bring himself to answer.]
