No, really, I mean it. I've seen a lot of things -- more things that you'd think I ever would, given my youthful and altogether handsome appearance, -- but this place. Brilliant! So flash! So shiny! Well, they're stars, how could they not be shiny? Although, strictly speaking, stars are more luminous than shiny. But you can't use luminous in an interjection. Too many syllables. Can't be spouting off exclamations of surprise if it takes more than a second. Wouldn't really be surprised, then -- it'd sound too premeditated to be genuine.

So! The shop's the gateway, yeah? Never seen it before today, and I'd figured I'd gotten used to this version of London by now. Still, always did like a little shop, but it feels a bit wrong that it'd be used for sinister purposes like this -- after all, I can't really see this as being positive, the whole kidnapping and displacing thing. I guess you really can't ever trust a salesman. Or a saleswoman. Or a salestwin, as the case might be.

But right, anyway! Sinister little shop leading to a mysterious planetarium taken to an extreme scale? I might be new to this universe, still, but I'm reasonably sure this wouldn't be considered normal.

Now, who wants to offer an explanation before I call for back-up? And you might want to be quick about it -- I like calling for back-up.

To be honest, I didn't really think another you was going to show up... especially after the second one.

Well, I'm full of surprises, I'm afraid. Me specifically, but I reckon the others are, too.

[laughs a little bit, then tilts his head; the curiousity has returned!] ... What makes you different from the other versions of you? You said it before, and just now, you made it sounds like you were talking about the same thing.

Well, I say "made." Sort of mean "created," but I suppose it's the same idea, in the most general sense.

So! Once upon a time, I had my right hand cut off. Well, turns out someone -- namely, one Captain Jack -- picked it up and preserved it to use it as a sort of Doctor compass.

Kind of recently, I had a near-death experience, and nearly regenerated. So! Instead of regenerating completely, I used the energy to heal myself, then siphoned the rest off into the handy-dandy hand-- [which he'll be waving.] There it is.

Then, my plucky companion, Donna Noble, touched the hand, reactivating the energy, and , here I am.

[... blinks]

That made... some sense. [Probably less brain-breaking than memories = time = desert, at least.]

Can't make it much clearer than that, really.

No, unfortunately, not the sort of traveling I'm used to, anyway. Can't, really. No TARDIS for me where I am.

No TARDIS? [D:] Why not?

My other self has it. My original self, I suppose you could say. Only one TARDIS in the universe, and I suppose it's only proper that he gets it, seeing as how, well, he sort of got there first.
