[ Angela is here, with some paper. She's written down a list of words on it, and is pondering it with a rather annoyed look. She's also grumbling to herself, indignant. ]

I look nothing like a muffin! Who does he think he is?

Someone called you muffin?

[ She folds her arms. ] Koren did. Everyone's talking strange back home...

[Comes over to look at the list out of curiosity] He's never called you muffin before?

Talking strange how?

He calls me princess. And when he's mad, he calls me by my name. "Muffin" is very strange, coming from Koren. He didn't say it very nicely, either. [ Not that she was fighting with him or anything... ]

They're using words like this... [ She shows Dino the list. There's a lot of 1930's slang on it, much of it pertaining to more, uh, off-color things. ] The maids are, at least. I eavesdrop on their conversations now and then.

I've heard people use muffin as a cutesy pet name for women but I think it can be used as an insult too.

[Looks over the list. He recognizes only a few of the words, including a couple of the off-color ones.] This is slang. I know a few of these terms, so I don't think they're from your world.

Koren doesn't do cutesy. It was definitely an insult.

They're not, I don't think. I've never heard any of this before. [ She sighs. ] It has to be something to do with this place.

That's a really odd insult to use, particularly since this guy seems to be someone with an important position.

I haven't heard most of them before either. [Looks over the list] I picked up most of what I know from old movies...do you think this might be because of Firo's reality?

It is, that's why I didn't sock him. I was too surprised. [ She taps her chin. ] Maybe that was his plan.

I... think so. [ The mention of Firo makes her look a bit uncomfortable. She touches her lips, then catches herself and tries to look like she's itching her nose. ] Have you... seen him lately?

You were going to punch him?

[Notices something is up but he has no idea what that is] Yeah. Something is going on with him.

Well, at least give him a good knock on the head. [ There's a bit of a bluff to her voice. She folds her arms. ] He has no business calling me a muffin.

He... has other people in his head. Memories, from that guy he had to get rid of. I think they're the people, other immortals this guy killed. [ She looks away. ] I'm really worried about him.

[Chuckles and leans on the edge of the desk] Why was he insulting you anyway?

So that's whats going on. [Doesn't really understand that much, but he's trying to sound like he does] I'm worried about him too Angela. I don't know if there's anything we can do for him, but we can still try.

He may have tried to associate the fact that I saw him as the Deathjester with what he did in the past. And I may have gotten really mad at him over it...

[ Angela reaches out and takes his hand. ] Just... be careful, all right? Firo is... He'd never want to hurt a friend in his right mind, but he might, if he doesn't know who you are. I don't seem to trigger that kind of reaction for him, but I don't know if you'll...

I see...

[Covers her hands with his free one] I will be. If it seems like he's being hostile I'll just drop off the Plane, all right? I don't want to fight a friend.

[ Rubs the back of his hand with her thumbs. ] Okay. He goes back to normal if you say his name, but it's pretty painful for him. I found out when I told him to stop ki-- [ alskejdsalfkjasd ]

[Was being distracted by her thumbs but akjkjadkljk] When you told him to stop what?

[ Blush ] He thought he was someone else and I was someone else and he kissed me.

[SJFSJFKLSJ Brief surge of anger that is directed at Firo before Dino reminds himself that Firo isn't himself and Angela even said he though she was someone else. Put yes, his hand did tighten around hers involuntarily] You said you told him to stop. Did he?

[ Angela notices the hand squeeze and turns her palm up to weave her fingers with his. ] He did. The moment I said his name, he snapped out of it, but it hurt him a lot. I don't want to wind up doing that to him again.

[Gives her hand a squeeze] At least he had enough of himself to back off. Angela, I know you want to help...but maybe it's better if you don't go near him. It hurts him when you try to stop him and he thinks your someone else. What if whoever he thinks he is doesn't listen to you next time?

I know, but... It's hard to just stay away from him when I'm worried. Both of you took care of me when I was hallucinating, I don't want to abandon him. [ She inches closer, hoping he'll put his arm around her, hug her, something. ] After all I put you through...

You're a good person Angela. [Pulls the hand that doesn't have it's fingers tangled with hers free so and cups her cheek with it] You didn't put me through anything, so stop talking like that. I wanted to help you.

[ Well, she wasn't expecting face-touchies. She blushes. ] S-sorry, I'm kind of used to being considered a burden. Not to my friends or anything, but...

[Blushes a bit himself when he realizes what he did and pulls his hand away, slowly] Who would consider you a burden?

[ She takes that hand with her other so she's holding both of his, and swings them to and fro playfully. ] Pretty much the entire castle. I was a troublemaker, remember?

[Smile] I know people saw me as a burden when I was a kid, but I ended up proving them wrong. You will too.
