[ Angela looks up, and her irritation melts away to a concerned smile. ] Hey, you, how are you feeling?

[ Fuss fuss fuss, she feels his forehead and smooths his hair back. ]

You're sure? [ He was in a bad way the last time she saw him, so she's not entirely convinced. ]

Hmm, oh, people at home have started talking strange. I was trying to figure out what they're saying. The maids were gossiping about someone named Sheik. I think he's a new chef, but I'm not sure. [ She looks at her list. ]

And Koren called me a muffin. I have no idea why, I don't look like a muffin.

[Oh lord. He's feeling a little wobbly, so he sits down.] Uh... Muffin means woman. And... [Blushing a bit now] Sheik... sheik means a guy you think's handsome.

[ Angela sits down with him. She doesn't want to crowd, but she'd certainly there in case he needs someone to lean on. ] It does? Why haven't I heard it used like that before?

Oh, I haven't seen him, so I don't know. Apparently this guy makes something really well. Woo something. [ She looks through her list. ] Woo-pee? Doesn't sound all that appetizing to me.

[ She folds her arms. ] Koren did. Everyone's talking strange back home...

[Comes over to look at the list out of curiosity] He's never called you muffin before?

He calls me princess. And when he's mad, he calls me by my name. "Muffin" is very strange, coming from Koren. He didn't say it very nicely, either. [ Not that she was fighting with him or anything... ]

They're using words like this... [ She shows Dino the list. There's a lot of 1930's slang on it, much of it pertaining to more, uh, off-color things. ] The maids are, at least. I eavesdrop on their conversations now and then.

I've heard people use muffin as a cutesy pet name for women but I think it can be used as an insult too.

[Looks over the list. He recognizes only a few of the words, including a couple of the off-color ones.] This is slang. I know a few of these terms, so I don't think they're from your world.

Koren doesn't do cutesy. It was definitely an insult.

They're not, I don't think. I've never heard any of this before. [ She sighs. ] It has to be something to do with this place.

[Ammy is trotting up to her, looking worried until she scents the air. Then she grins.] You seem to be doing better.

[ Angela smiles and kneels down, scratching Amaterasu behind the ears. ] I am. Thank you so much for taking care of me, Amaterasu.

[ She giggles. ] I'm glad to be well again. It was really strange, especially the feelings I had when I figured out who I was seeing as who.

I'm going to leave to see them next week. My mother wants to make sure I'm well before I can leave.

Yeah, still a little sick to my stomach, but it's almost all gone now. [ She looks down at the paper, eyes darkening. ] Looks like I'm not the Twins' target anymore.

I can get you some tea for that, if you want. [He nods, his own expression darkening.] Good. It seems that, no matter what they do to us, they don't actually want any of us dead.
