I was - 1973 - but 2006! The textile factory, it's - it just turns into 2006. I was - my mobile! I have my mobile back! [isn't cuddling the mobile phone. Really!] And my PC and satellite television and it's all there and the rest of Manchester is '73 but there's that little, little... pocket of 2006...

I meant this place. This astral plane. You could stay here forever and no time would pass wherever you come from.

That is a very foolish choice, Mr. Tyler. If there is one type of person you want to stay on the good side of, it is murderers. Particularly if they know whom you care about.

[turns around to face him] Why not just kill me?

[he smiles pleasantly, fully showing his fangs]

Because, Mr. Tyler, you'd learn nothing from it. You'd have a sense that in your death, you've spared your friends and that has made it worth while.

[he steps forward]

[stands his ground]

'Learn nothing?' You're going to 'educate' me, then?

[he reaches out for a moment - he seems to lack the idea of personal space - to slide a gloved hand along Sam's shoulder]

If it is needed. Of course, as I said, the only way to do that would be to kill your little friends until you beg for me to stop. Perhaps I could kill Mr. Hunt in front of you. You seemed rather distressed the first time he met his end.

[knocks the arm away reflexively, but then realises that's possibly a bad idea. Believe it or not, Sam's common sense is starting to make itself heard]

[looks down, wets his lips, and then looks up again - his voice is clear]
