Ooooiii! Baby shark! Where the hell have you been?! We've got training to do!

And lunch~! Sumeragi-san is great. [He plops down on a random park bench to eat a well-earned bento, still decked out in Air Trecks and knee-guards.]

Minami Ikki. Nice to meetcha, Amatera...su. [It's not polite to stare, Ikki.] Isn't that name something religious?

[Laughs.] Then you recognize it! So few here do~ Indeed, I am the sun goddess of Nippon. Though I expect the Amaterasu you are familiar with is a bit different.

Ikki's fine. [blink blink] Anyone who's from Japan should know it. [more blinking] I... um... yeah. That's cool. [He eats a few bites of rice, his hunger getting the best of his shock.]

Ikki, then. [Smiles, giggling a little.] That seems to be the reaction of most of the people here. They all seem to be rather unused to gods and goddesses.

Tell me, though, how is it that you were flying before?

Heh. [He grins easier.] Well, modern times don't have deities walking around and stuff...

Ah, it's my shoes. [He lifts his feet, Air Trecks still on.] The technology inside of them gives people wings, you could say.

So I have heard. A bit odd, really! But I suppose the rules are different in other worlds.

How fascinating! I have always been impressed by how inventive humans can be. Who knew they would one day be capable of flight?

Humans are nature's thrill-seekers. Being able to touch the sky instead of just staring at it from the ground your whole life is really something amazing.

[Mmm, scritches.] Ah, it is very beautiful. It is green and open, the water is clear and the air is clean. Well...that's how it usually is, anyway. Unfortunately an enemy of mine has returned, and has left most of Nippon under a terrible curse.

What kind of curse? The way most of these stories go, that would be humans you're talking about. [He doesn't lessen the scritches, and actually moves on more to the ruff, trying to get everywhere that won't burn him.]

The curse destroys the land and kills most living things. Any humans caught in it are immediately turned to stone. [Sighs a little.] This all happened before, and I thought I had put a stop to it for good, but it seems that I am forced to start over. But no matter. I will dispel the curse and defeat Yami once more.

[Yay! Fortunately that fire only burns her enemies :D]

That sounds... awful. [He gives Amaterasu a super-nice scritch.] But nothing you can't handle. As long as you have the wind with you, you will never go astray.
