[because Dero can't survive with the Brig being dead any longer, he's alive and on the Plane. he's inwardly quite disturbed, you know, by the fact he was killed and now is alive - and it shows on his face via... him just looking thoughtful, really.

the Brig takes just a moment or so before seeming to 'snap' out of it, and then he assumes his general neutral expression]

Well. Seems I'm in need of a new gun.

[which is correct, as the gun normally in his holster is gone completely]

You've my sympathies.

There might be a chance she could come back though, even the slightest chance....

[he clasps a hand on Jack's shoulder] Maybe. Until then, it's just wait and see.

[Jack nods, smiling at the Brigadier. Then he leans forward, risking a quick kiss and pulling back again, his expression now one of feigned innocence]

[and now he gives Jack one of those looks, you know, not offended but more... actually I don't know, it's a look, but not an angry one or something :|]

[Jack simply grins in responce] You did promise me, Brigadier.

I believe I'm no longer in a post-traumatic state?

[he sighs] Harkness, I've been alive for about an hour. Do you really think now is an appropriate time?

If I don't hurry you might come up with another reason to say no.

[the Brig chuckles a bit] There's nothing wrong with a bit of patience, you know.

[Jack shrugs, his eyes never leaving the other man] Unfortunately, it's never been one of my best qualities...

[gets his swagger stick and taps it against the side of his leg idly] It'd do you good, Harkness.

There's a lot of things that would do even you good, Brigadier; doesn't exactly mean things will change.

I know that.

And as thus, my offer still stands, sir.

[he sighs] I'm aware of that as well, Harkness.

[Is outright leering now] Is that a yes, then?

Mr. Harkness, as I stated earlier, I've only been alive again for an hour or so. While I'm good at handling a lot of things, this is entirely out of my range of experience. It would be nice if you could give me a bit to sort things out.

[Makes a face, because in his mind there's nothing to sort out, but steps back obediently regardless]

[he nods] Thank you. It's a matter of... bad timing.

Bad timing seems to be all I have with you Brigadier; any normal person would've probably already given up.

It's only been twice, Harkness.

Twice as long as it usually takes me.

Consider me a challenge, then. They're more rewarding when overcome.
