[appears on the Plane, apparently back to normal - there's no sign of the feathery tendrils that he's been struggling with the past two weeks. Yawning, he rubs at the back of his currently not-spiked hair, smiling drowsily]

It's a good thing that's... ...

[he then trails off as he sees all the blood and gore littered around the Plane, staring in horror at the scene]

What happened here?!

An accident, I suppose. {She's standing some distance away and doesn't come closer. But there's not an apology in her eyes, just cold indifference.}

[turns to face her, frowning slightly] Accident or not, it's still horrible.

I wonder how true that'll be, though. {Simply} But I don't care whether I'm forgiven or not. Only by a few people does it really matter to me.

Well, no, not really. I feel bad for hurting the Doctor, Sam, and Jack, but they didn't die. Well, Jack did, but he doesn't count. The two of us are the same. The people that died I didn't really know, so I don't care whether they forgive me or not.

Hmm, well, what you want to hear is "Of course I do", but really, no. They just come back to life anyways.

That doesn't mean they didn't suffer!

Well, just because I'm immortal, that doesn't mean that I don't suffer when I die, but no one so much as bats an eye as soon as they see that I just come back to life. Ne, why should I return that?

[covers his mouth with a hand, silent for a moment, before lowering it and speaking up again]

They must not realize what they're doing. Not everyone thinks like that.

You don't think like that, you mean. Not all humans are bad, and not all humans are good, but I've seen enough of them to know how they act. Most humans don't care if a stranger dies or gets hurts. I'm the same. I feel bad because I didn't mean to, but I bet the people that died won't care about that.

[quietly, almost pleadingly] I don't think you're giving them enough credit. How do you know for sure that they won't care? There's a lot of difference between something done on purpose and an accident.

{Frowns at his tone} Why does it matter to you?

... It's what you said about people growing so callous that they don't care about death. I don't want to see that happen here. We're all in this situation together, and all this fighting doesn't help anyone.

{Quietly} It's not fighting.

You're not the first person here to have killed someone. Those other deaths weren't accidents.

I know that. It's not fighting if you kill someone on accident, because it was fun, whatever reason. Ne, it's only fighting if you kill someone for revenge, really.

Isn't that just semantics? Violence is violence. Different reasons don't make it any better.

{Thoughtfully; she's trying to understand} Well then, would it be worse for me to kill 100 people by accident or to kill 10 because I wanted to kill them?

You don't ask the easy questions, do you?

[silent for a moment, thinking this over] ... Every death is horrible. That doesn't mean that less people being killed makes it less of a tragedy. It's not a fair question when lives mean a lot more than the numbers used for them.

Why is that? Why does it matter when people die?
