02- From Bad to Worse

[Jack appears on the Astral plane, his coat gone. The front of his shirt is covered in blood, and he looks more dazed than anything, half wondering half stumbling. He mumbles to himself as he walks, an almost blank look on his face] Their dead. I couldn't even save Rhys for Gwen, and now so man people are dead. Why doesn't the blood come off......

[ooc: *cough* Do to his recent interaction with Simm!Master, Jack's mental state has gone from somewhat bad but manageable, to  a few steps from just loosing it completely. Which, of course, reflects on his reality, which in turn makes things worse >>

Oh, and just for the record; any post before this is basically pre!return, so he'll be his normal self there u-u]

[His body remains stiff, but after a moment, he slowly starts to hug back, his face buried in Rose's hair]

[shakes his head, then let's out a bitter laugh] Not really, no. At least now I can say he's not the only one...

I didn't even exist for you then...[his hold tightens, becoming possessive] But why him, of all people?

[Ack, doesn't know how to answer this, what with Jack's current state] Well, it's not like we really dislike each other.

[doesn't say anything, just sighs. then he begins to lower himself to the ground, tugging her with him]

[Follows suit] Wrong thing to say, wasn't it?

[now sitting on the ground, he tugs at Rose until she's sitting in his lap, his chest pressed to her back. his arms are still around her waist, holding her body to his] Not much to say.

[Leans back into him] Stupid question, I know, but are you all right?

[Jack's head rest on her shoulder lightly, and he only shakes his head, letting his eyes fall closed]

[Sighs, because she doesn't like that] I'm sorry, Jack. If there's anything I can do....

Just stay here a bit longer. I'll go away soon enough, I promise.

Just a bit longer? I'd stay for a week. And I don't want you to go away, so don't promise that.

[smiles a bit at that; a real, genuine smile] I'll stay for as long as you want if you'll do the same...
