Right, well, this is strange. Not the strangest thing I've ever seen, but still pretty strange. Still, though, when in Rome, right?
Except there are no Romans to when in Rome with. Makes it sort of hard to follow that one.

Anyway! What is this? It looks like sort of...nothing, except...is that a beach? A beach. In the middle of empty space.

Still. Not the weirdest thing I've seen. Hacking around the rainforest as long I've been doing, and not too much surprises you anymore. I'm not sleeping in trees anymore, though, that's for sure. I think that bat thing was after my blood. Looked like it, anyway.

[scratches his neck] Well, Time Lords have this thing, this ability- ...But you're not a- ...well, no, maybe. You're...I don't think you can. [sighs] Time Lords and Gallifreyans in general have rapid healing abilities, as well as the ability to regenerate. That's something that's earned, though. [a pause] It was anyway. But death? That's a little more permanent.

It's nothing I can think of my species being able to do. For a second it almost sounded like regeneration but no. I don't think you'll be able to do that.

Rose and Jack used to travel with me. About the same time, too. They're both good people. You can count on them.

Uhm, right, let's see. There's the Masters, uhm, one of them hangs around me a lot. Younger looking, not a lot of hair. And he happens to look a bit like Sam Tyler, who is a very nice bloke you can trust. The other Master has fangs and a beard, by the way. Rose is blonde, Jack's...immortal. Uhm, there's Romana and you...look a bit like her, actually. She's been busy, I think. I hope. ...Anyway, there's Gene, Sam's friend. He's crude, don't listen to him. But you can still trust him, more or less. My Ninth is around here and my Fifth, too. You'll like them. They're me after all. The TARDIS takes on a few forms but she'll make herself known. There is a Donna around here and a Brigadier. Really, most of the people are actually quite nice.

So! Just so I've got this straight. The Masters are bad, Sam Tyler, Rose, Jack, and Romana are all good, and Gene is all right.

Yep! That's the gist of it!

Oh, right! Regenerations. Right, well, it's a thing Time Lords can do near death. We change every cell in our bodies, renewing them but it changes everything. Nifty way to cheat death. I'm stay 'the Doctor' but I'm always a little bit different each time. I'm on my Tenth. My Fifth was a blond in a cricket outfit. He wears black now. My Ninth wears leather and has great big old ears.
