The Road Not Wanted

[A massive, primitive-looking creature appears on the Plane, vaguely resembling a snow leopard, but bigger. Stockier. With longer, shaggy fur. It's paws are huge; its teeth long enough that a half-inch of fang protrudes down from its upper lip. Its tail is a long gray plume.

A glint of metal peaks from the nest of hair on the crown of its head. A spark plug, embedded in its skull. Cy shakes herself, the smell of snow and thick musk rolling off of her. When she speaks, her voice is deep and rich and wild.]

I fell in. Fell in? The pool should be covered, the Road should be blocked. How could I just fall in?

[Yuri came over when he saw something that looked dangerous. He's watching carefully, weapons already on, as he waits to see what the big cat does. Yuri doesn't scare easily, and he's ready if this thing decides to attack him.]

[Familiar face! She pads toward him.]

[Hands up, claws pointed toward the cat as he falls into an attack stance] Watch it!

[She jumps back, snarls a little. She's already upset, and now he is waving pointy things at her.]

[Is used to things with big teeth and claws trying to eat him. So he keeps his claws up. But this thing was talking earlier and what is it with this place and talking anyway?] What do you want?

[Walks in a circle, giving him a careful look at each circuit.] Want to know what change comes next, want the Majicou to come...

[Keeping a careful eye on her as she walks] Majicou? What the hell is that?

[She sits down and watches him warily.] The Road-walker.

[Relaxes slightly when he realizes the big cat isn't try to attack him right now. He lowers his hands a bit, but doesn't take off the claws.] Road-walker?

[Lowers her head, giving him a nervous look.] Why you want to scratch me, Spirits-to-spare?

[Frowns] Hey, how did yo..[And his memory clicks. Now he's starting at her, very, very surprised] But you were tiny!
[That reminds him of another tiny, a dog. But that thing had looked like the demon it was when it grew. This cat didn't have the feel of a Malice monster about it, and wasn't acting as aggressive as they did.]

[Gives him a quizzical look.] It's what happens when you run.

Run? You change sizes by running?

[Stretches.] The roads, yeah, not just for a jog, you know.

[Relaxes and gets out his attack stance. Doesn't take off his claws quiet yet, but he's at least decided he doesn't have to worry about being attacked] That's....interesting. Are you going to change back? You're going to scare people in that form.

[Sits, managing to look perplexed.] Should've gone already.

Can't you control your size?

[Stretches again and lays down.] The Road calls the old ones in us. When you leave the road, you leave the old ones--but it's not going away.

Old ones? What, like spirits or something? [To Yuri, every transformation is related to spirits or demons in someway.]

[Rests her head on her paws.] They run with us, always moving, always following the gray wind.

Grey wind? What the heck is that? [Kitty is confusing Harmonixer]

[Kitty is being confused by her inability to explain. Well, in her mind, his inability to get it.] It's... the gray wind.

[Yay for confusing each other? Yuri is used to working around things he doesn't really understand though] Age, Whatever! Basically you should have changed back but you haven't, right?

[Rolls over, then over again.] Back to basics! Hasn't gone away.
