[Annie is sitting at her desk, doing paperwork, with a bowl of ice cream next to her]

There's a beehive in the office. It was getting to be impossible to do paperwork in there without chance of getting stung. Which really wouldn't be good right now. Doing paperwork from hospital wouldn't be too easy....

[Sneaks a cookie out of her desk drawer and keeps working]

Ended up in hospital a few times a kid because of it.

Do you want me to - oh, right. Can't. I forgot.

Has, uh, DCI Bell come in yet? I think that was the one the Guv said he wanted in as the interim DCI.

Dunno. I was too busy hiding from the bees, really. I can go check, though, if you'd like?

No, don't worry about it. You should stay out of the office until the bees are gun. ...how'd they get in there in the first place?

[Shrugs, and eats another cookie, offering one] No clue, really. Came into the office this morning, and they were everywhere. There may have been a few around before, but we all just thought it was the weather.

[a sort of shrug]

[and then] You do realise, time doesn't pass here. So you won't actually be able to avoid them by staying here. Unless you mean to get your paperwork done in peace.

That works, too, then. As long as it gets done somewhere where there aren't bees. If I finish it here, than I can leave the office as soon as I'm done.

And it is nice, not being in a room full of shouting men. Easier to get work done.

Yeah, it's a lot easier to do work here. Well, unless people spot you. Then you can get a bit distracting.

Not at all! Well, a bit, I don't mind it. I could do with a bit of a break.

I can understand the sentiment. [carefully moves aside some paperwork so he can sit on her desk as he talks]

That's probably because you never take them.

Why does everyone think that? I take all the breaks I need. I took a week off work just a bit ago.

Did you think about anything other than work while on holiday?

I did! I thought about Portal and Bioshock - about, uh - [pauses, presses his lips together] Hyde things.

And when Rose took me out to some amusement parks, I thought about the rides.

You did? I'm amazed. And a little proud.

You know, Annie, I sometimes get the impression that you're teasing me half the time you talk to me, and insulting me the other half.

Half the time, you might be right.

I don't think it's in the best interests of my ego to inquire further.

You're a smart cookie, Sam Tyler. [Hands him one, to reward him]

And you have an unending capacity for insulting me and complimenting me at the same time, Annie Cartwright. [HURRAH! Delicious cookies. Sam eats, om nom nom]
