006 - Unfinished Business

[Misaki appears, stretched out on a comfortably battered-looking couch. The coffee table that shows up next to it is covered in files, photos and maps. Her hair is down and in a tangled mess; she’s using some wadded up sweatshirts for a pillow. The shadows under her eyes look as dark as bruises. She’s nearly asleep, her hand resting in an open file. Her other arm is in a cast and sling.

She’s lying under a fuzzy blue blanket that is not nearly long enough to cover all of her, or to hide the fact that she is wearing a light-blue tank top and matching pajama pants covered with tiny mallard ducks. Her eyelids flutter shut, and she shifts her weight. The file slides to the ground, sending photos pinwheeling across the Astral floor.

The scene they depict is not pretty.

Two bodies, cut up and arranged to spell the word ‘Naughty’.

She makes a tiny, sleepy sound and drifts off.]

There are many. They are in different locations, for one.

Please outline for me the sequence of events that the words "complete disaster" entail--referring specifically to those events that originated the heartless. If you want to be particular, I can rephrase that into the form of a question.

[Sighs, was getting bored mincing words anyways] You could say it was an experiment gone awry. I can't recall exactly what went wrong with it- In all appearances, it seemed to be stable- but the end result was the birth of several heartless from the very darkness we were attempting to study.

The effect of the Gates have been profound. Wars have been fought over control of them. They rewrite the most basic scientific laws as we know them, and then when we catch up, changes them again--not in the whole world mind you, but in the Gate-space.

You said there are multiple separate worlds--how do they communicate? I'm assuming they do, since you know of their existence.

They can't. None of the worlds are aware of the others' existance.

Give an example of something that has been discovered beyond the gates- in this... 'Gate-space'.

Abnormal plants have been taken from the Gates and cultivated.

None of them are aware of the others, yet you know of their existence, and seem to be familiar enough with them. Explain to me why that is.

It's been rumoured that 'Axel' was once able to come here, but that was several months ago, and I have yet to lay eyes on him here myself. That aside, there's also a young boy that answers to 'Roxas', and a rather irritating man named 'Demyx'. Roxas is short in stature with blonde hair, and Demyx is somewhat taller and carries an obnoxiously loud sitar on his person. Both wear a cloak the same as my own.

Perhaps it is- that doesn't make me any less hesitant to tell you, however.
