[North's in the mansion, putting away food after a trip to the kitchen. He's humming to himself and debating what to make for lunch. Leaving the island the mansion's on isn't exactly something he's thinking of doing right now. His hand and feet up to his calves are all glittery and sparkly thanks to wading in the water off the patio steps and using his hand his hand as an oar. He glances at his hand now, frowning slightly at it, and while he continues to think about what he wants, he heads over to the sink to try to wash the sparkles off.]
[It doesn't work. He's still at it a few minutes later, scrubbing his hand, when he spots a few pieces of chocolate hanging out behind the box he used to transport food.]
Huh, when did those get there?
[From inside his mind, a little quizzical voice adds:] Dunno, maybe we didn't notice?
Maybe... [He dries his still glittery hand on his pants and wanders over to grab one of the pieces. He turns it over in his fingers; it looks like a regular piece of chocolate. It doesn't look much different from the chocolate he can find back home. It smells delicious too he discovers after shrugging and unwrapping it to pop it into his mouth. The appealing scent plus a rumble from his stomach finally makes up his mind about what to do with it.]
Theta, if anything weird happens to me, find Patricia.
O-okay! [Theta agrees, but wonders why North thinks something might happen.]

[Elsewhere, Loki's in the bar, curled up in a corner with a very pained expression on his face. He's not dressed in his normal leather clothing, but rather a black fabric tunic and pair of trousers with his regular black boots. His hair is unkempt and sweat is beading on his skin. On a table nearby are a few foil wrappers, empty of their contents.]
What vile degenerate has dared to poison me?! [He lets out a groan, a hand pressed to his chest.] My chest feels as though it has been set aflame...!
[What he wouldn't give to have more of his powers. Why Odin saw it fit to banish him.... He was only trying to rule in his stead! Odin, the man who knew what he was and forced him to think of him as "Father" for all those years! All he ever wanted was to prove himself worthy as a son of Odin, and banishment is all he could be rewarded with...]
[He glances at his hand, trying to carefully breathe and keep his mind off the assault in his chest, knowing he cannot yield most of his magic. Odin managed to strip him of just about everything, but he is not powerless. No, that much he can feel. There is some magic within him, but he is nowhere near the sorcerer he once was. And once he has figured out a way to quench the flames, he will be better equipped to test what powers he has left.]
[If only he hadn't eaten that accursed chocolate...]
[ooc: Take your pick! Or hit both, I don't mind <3 (We'll pretend I hit "send" before falling asleep last night.) Anyway, North is going to be cuddly and physically affectionate, but Loki, now in a mortal-state thanks to being banned and stripped of his powers, is now experiencing a very bad case of heart burn for the first time in his very long life.]

North
What was that about looking for me?
no subject
A-Ah, nothing! Just...that North was eating this piece of chocolate...
[The effects of the chocolate begin to set in and his expression turns from surprise to warmth and affection. He immediately swoops in to kiss her, dipping her backwards. When he pulls away, he grins like a fool.] Hello gorgeous. Are you sure you're not psychic? Because you've been on my mind all day.

[because she knows what happened the last time chocolates appeared on the Plane, and considering both that and the chocolate smell that she's sensed all over the Plane lately, she has a horrible sinking feeling]

[Theta, on the other hand, is caught off-guard by her reaction but for a different reason: she's very scary when she's like this.] A-ah, no, I haven't noticed any big changes. [A short pause.] Though...now that you mention it, I am noticing a steady increase of dopamine and norepinephrine in his brain.
Actually, it started the moment you showed up, Patricia.
See Trisha, I'm fine. Now how about we go curl up together somewhere? [He steps towards her again, his hand outstretched to her.]
no subject
[as North continues advancing, she shakes her head. she's backing out of the doorway now] No. Not until you think about this and listen to Theta! North, I've been smelling chocolate since I had my dream. Don't you get it? I warned the Plane about the wrong thing! The flood isn't the danger; the chocolate is.
no subject
Is that why you asked about chocolate? I thought you were just wanting dessert. [He stops though, feeling emptier by the second that he's not touching her.] It's too late now. Please, I need you, Trisha.
no subject
[she stops, too, her posture still guarded even as his tone cuts right through her.] North... [she falters for a second but then shakes her head firmly] Whatever that chocolate is telling you that you've gotta do? You know you can't make me eat it, too.

[Meanwhile, Theta's feeling pretty bad about letting North get into this situation to begin with...]

Oh Loki~~~~ Karma's calling!
Mu is silent for a long moment, looking Loki up and down. It's clear on his face he's debating whether or not his time is worth being wasted here...but his station requires he try. It does not, however, require he be nice about it.]
Your chest looks perfectly healthy from here. What other symptoms are you experiencing?
no subject
You can see. [He lets out a small, pained chuckle that he quickly regrets.] Of course my physical chest looks perfectly fine. It conceals a fire that has spread throughout me and threatens to burst through my very skin! I feel as though I could blow fire and burn this place to ash.
no subject
[He seems to mull over Loki's description, and continues his inspection. After a long moment, Mu pokes Loki at the bottom of the breastbone.] If I understand your description correctly, the pain originates about here, doesn't it? A sharp and burning sensation that stretches to the back of your throat?
[If his hunch is correct, Mu is going to have to try VERY hard not to laugh out loud.]
no subject
[But as Mu runs through his description, Loki sits up a bit.] Yes, yes that is it exactly. Do you know what is wrong?
no subject
[Mu somehow bites back a smile, though it's a moment before he answers.] Praytell what did you eat?
no subject
[Impatiently, he vaguely gestures at the foil wrappers nearby.] These so-called innocent chocolates.
no subject
[A smile tugs at Mu's face, despite his best effort.]It's merely heartburn. I will be back in a moment. [He flicks away, and true to his word, comes back in short order with a bottle of Cider vinegar he dug out of the kitchen.] A small sip of this will taste atrocious, but should serve to lessen your hurts.
no subject
[When Mu disappears, Loki is just left staring incredulously. Heartburn? Something has literally set his heart aflame?! How do mortals stand the sensation? And admittedly, the solution doesn't lessen his concerns.]
Is that all? Why should I trust this will work? You could very well slip poison in and I would be none the wiser.
no subject
[Loki's barrage of questions only make Mu's smile grow, if only very slightly.] Yes, that is all. There are several causes of heartburn, but one of the most common is an imbalance of acids in the stomach. A capful of this, unpleasant as it may be to swallow, will help a great deal in that regard.
[The joke on Loki is that Mu isn't telling him to dilute it in water to make it more palatable.]
Whether or not you believe me is, quite frankly, not my problem. I have no desire for revenge against you, and if I did, I would not stoop so low as poison.
no subject
[He stares, still not believing those words. How can this mortal not wish to take vengeance on him for his eye sight? It simply doesn't make sense to him. Neither would the use of poison.]
If it is as you say, then...I shall try it. Even if I die, I will return. [He reaches out for the vinegar.]
no subject
[He hands over the vinegar without a fuss, though he adds, perhaps a little darkly,] The taste is strong; you may wish to brace yourself.

what up loki
She hears Loki in the corner, frowns when she sees the state that he's in, and after nabbing a handful of orange slices (and already nibbling at one of them) she makes her way over.]
Loki. ... Something happened.
no subject
So, so many things have occurred that I would not even know where to begin should you ask. [He glances up at her through his disheveled hair.] ...No tiny confectioneries this time?
[Not that cake sounds appealing right now.]
