Three? I think?

[There's a new piece of furniture on the Plane! ....Actually that's a lie, it's just Castor laying on the floor. The blessedly, sweet  cold floor. Lying beside her is what looks to be a large lump of vaguely dog-shaped fur...except it's longer than she is tall, and might be a small bear.

Also, the beardog probably notices you before Castor does, looking up with big eyes and a lazy wag of a tail.  Castor just rolls over, onto her back with something of a mighty sigh, but at least now it's easy to see how flushed her face is. ]

Leda, I swear to every god in Ourissia, if you bark, I'm going to leave you at Allistair's again.

[The beardog, Leda, if her attention is anything to go by, only whines a little, then lays her head back down, but looks back to whoever approached the pair. Her tail is still wagging.]

[It's been a while since Wash has seen Castor, but he definitely sees her friend first, But...well, he's not sure if that's just a giant dog--it doesn't look like any breed he's familiar with--or a bear with a long tail. On the leash that she's slowly getting used to, his little dragon is tugs and jumps about excitedly, wishing to inspect the giant lump of fur.]

Okay, okay, we'll go look. Now behave or no fish later, understood? [He gives the dragon a look, but his mirrored visor only reflects back the dragon's own excited expression instead of showing his rather stern look. His tone, however, registers loud and clear. The little green dragon stops bouncing around, and sits on the starry ground, purring and waiting for him to move. This obedience only lasts for all of two seconds after he starts walking forward again and the dragon starts to tug on its leash again in excitement. He sighs, but once he's closer, he spots Castor beyond the giant dog (bear? he's still not sure.)]

Long time no see. [He tugs a little sharply on the dragon's leash to get it to stop bouncing around. It huffs a little, a hint of flame curling out of its nostrils, and sulkily sits on the ground. After a second, it starts to inch closer to giant furred thing in front of it.] Is this your...dog? [His voice rises up in pitch as he tries the word on for size, having no other he can honestly use, plus he's a little distracted in that very same moment by her flushed face.] Um, are you okay?

[Wash is somewhat relieved the giant dog--Leda--can't really...smell anything off about him. In the past few weeks, he's read far too many books where animals get uncomfortable and intimidated by a vampire's presence. The dragon has shown no such attitude towards him, either. Quite the opposite, actually. Speaking of, his dragon's eyes widen at Leda's curious attentions towards it and it tries to ruffle itself up to look bigger but it doesn't look a single bit larger. At all. And it's a half-hearted attempt anyway. Its own curiosity is strong and it's slowly creeping forward to inspect Leda some more.]

I see... And, well, this is my dragon. And thankfully, she can't do much more than hop around a lot. [He doesn't look forward to the flying stage.] Here, let me help you up. [He loosens the leash a bit and moves over to help Castor sit up.]
vengefulagent: (Actually she helped)

Um, I don't know. I...accidentally hatched this one. Its egg was in front of the fridge, and I was hungry, so I moved it and...out came this. [He gestures to the dragon, who seems positively stunned that it was licked. It has no idea whether it liked it, if it should lick it back, or if it should be disgusted and should find the nearest pool of water to wash off in.]

[Wash nods in reply to her thanks, putting a hand around her back to keep her supported.]
I think your dog found its pause button. [The little dragon has decided that 'sit down and stay stunned' is the appropriate response while it sorts out what it wants to do next.] Can you walk? Do you need me to carry you or...something?

[North's on his way to the kitchen when he spots Castor and her giant dog. It's been some time since he's seen her, since the lights on the Plane all went out, if he's remembering right, but he remembers the young woman. She really helped to make a difference in the library when she came with him to get supplies. He smiles but before he goes to join her, he stops and holds his hand out in front of him.]

Hey Theta, come out here for a second. There's something you need to see.

[Sure enough, the AI appears with a little flash of light in his hand.] What is it, North?

Turn around, five o'clock. About sixty-three feet away from our position. [He nods his head in the direction he means.]

Uh, okay... [Even as he's turning, Theta runs a quick scan of the area and notes two notes of interest in those coordinates in his motion tracking programming. That said, even being aware of the two, the AI visible jumps back when he sees the giant dog.] Whoa! Is...is that--?!

[He chuckles at his AI's excited realization. He didn't know Theta knew about dogs, let alone evidently really likes them. Is that a normal thing? Between that and Theta thinking about the Alpha... He needs to talk to York sometime. He's not about to talk to Wyoming about this. Not yet, anyway.] I think so, but how about we go say hi and ask? Maybe you can pet it. [He moves his hand up to his shoulder to set the AI up there as he starts to walk over.]

You think so? I'd really like to! [They both know it won't be possible, not with Theta being a hologram, but through North...maybe, just maybe, he'll be able to get an idea of what it's like. The closer they get to the person and the giant dog, though, the closer Theta moves in towards North's head. He's getting better about meeting people but damned if he still isn't shy meeting people North hasn't talked to him about yet.]

Hey...Castor, right? Do you need a hand up?

[He kneels down to hold a hand out to Leda, but before he can give her a scratching behind the ears, what Castor says hits him and he moves right over to her.]

Hold on, you have a fever? [He puts a hand to her forehead.] Theta, get me a read on her temperature.

Okay. [Theta's light dims slightly while he does this.]

This is my AI, Theta. He's just going to take your temperature and the I'm going to move you to the mansion. I hope your friend will let me.

[ currently without his little dragon tagalongs – either of them – darren is enjoying a blissful moment of silence. ( and sanity. who would have thought you could find such a thing on the plane, huh? ) he's about to light up a clove he's just taken from his pack when he notices the beardog first, giant and looming as it is even when lying down, and he has to stop. tilt his head in observance, a single brow quirked upward.

then he notices castor, when she finally moves, speaks up, and you'll have to forgive him if he's momentarily surprised. ( seriously. you're so small. that thing is so large. how do you even keep a handle on her … ?

important questions, all of these. )

he moves closer, sticking his cigarette into the corner of his mouth with a small, contemplative hum.
]

Hey, you okay? [ concerned! ]
swerve: (i know it's too late)

[personal profile] swerve 2014-09-08 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[ oh, there you are. hello. ]

Did something happen?

[ it seems like a logical enough question to him. ]

[personal profile] swerve 2014-09-18 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[ have a small frown. ]

That could take a while. [ at least, as far as all the fevers he's had are concerned. ]

I could get you something, if you wanted.
swerve: (✘ 11.)

[personal profile] swerve 2014-10-04 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Soup, maybe? [ he finally lights the end of his cigarette and takes a long pull from it. ]

I guess it would depend on how you're feeling, but that always seems to help me when I'm out of it.

Then ... hold that thought.

( and since he's pretty sure it would be easier to just drop back to his apartment, heat up some soup and bring it back as opposed to trekking all the way to the kitchen to get her something there, he's gone in a thought and back almost just as quickly, this time holding a rather large, steaming bowl of vegetable soup.

sorry if you don't like it, castor. it's all he had.
)

Try this?

[Menzies is frowning as she comes up toward Castor, wondering why in the world she's lying on the floor like that. of course, the beardog is also interesting, but she looks docile enough, and after her own tiger experience, Leda's presence is actually less jarring to Menzies than Castor's possible state of health--or lack thereof]

Castor, you all right?
grip_on_reality: (Thoughtful)

[personal profile] grip_on_reality 2014-09-11 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You're ill? [she stops, leaning slightly over her. she wants to check for a fever but not without permission] 'ave you taken anything for it? Or, ah, done whatever it is you do on Ourissia?
grip_on_reality: (Worrying)

[personal profile] grip_on_reality 2014-09-15 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
[she takes that flush to Castor's face as proof enough, and she frowns, concerned by her plan] Are you human? 'Cause I could get you something for the fever at least. Probably even get you medical attention if you need it, but we should probably start with a blanket and something to drink.
grip_on_reality: (Question)

[personal profile] grip_on_reality 2014-09-27 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
You've never 'eard of sweating out a fever? [she shrugs] Fair enough--it's probably just an urban myth anyway. But that floor's gonna get uncomfortable.

I mean medicine. Look--hold on a tick. I'll get you something from my world. [and without further ado, she drops from the Plane, returning with a bottle of paracetamol and a glass of water. she figures she can always go back for a blanket later]

[dumping a pill into her hand, she offers it and the glass to Castor]
Can you sit up? This should help.
grip_on_reality: (Conversing)

[personal profile] grip_on_reality 2014-09-30 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
[she isn't entirely sure how to answer that question, so she settles for saying:] It'll work--trust me. Just put it on your tongue and drink the water so you can swallow it. Could take a bit to kick in, but it will help.

[personal profile] grip_on_reality 2014-10-18 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[she shakes her head] Not too long. Anything else you want?

Oh, and keep the bottle. You'll be able to take another later--see the instructions 'ere? [she points to them on the side of the bottle, figuring that making sure Castor can read the instructions for herself is safer than just giving them verbally] Follow these. It'll 'elp with the symptoms.
