[ if there's one person that has something of a habit of making grand entrances to the plane, it's this guy. first, it was hitting the ground running from an angry orange alien, and this time, he'll just be rolling in on a desk chair at a pretty high velocity, probably close to toppling ass over teacup the moment he loses any semblance of his balance, and it will be just one more instance of falling on his ass in this place that he can add to the list.

at least he's in his armor. that oughta soften the blow a little.

and anything is better than floating around in space after having nearly been blown the fuck up just because someone had neglected to tell him that the director had his own course of action should he not be able to take care of a little security bypass. that hadn't been giving him any trouble. at all. thank you, delta.

who is, of course, already bombarding him with questions in the back of his mind, and could somebody get york an aspirin, or something? he feels one hell of a headache coming on.

his chair slowly rolls to a stop, and he slumps over, elbows braced on his knees as he silently takes stock of himself. nothing hurts, his armor is intact, there's an annoying buzzing inside his head that is still finding ways to explain why it hadn't felt the need to let a certain somebody in on the fact that the director had a giant fucking laser pointed at his location for the entire duration of his mission … eh, par for the course.
]

Agent York, are you listening?

Tryin' not to, D … haven't quite worked on tunin' you out yet. Gimme a bit, and I'll have it down pat.

[ oi. ]

( ooc: this would be york's canon bump! which means he now has a certain cockbite of an ai with him, and we pre-emptively apologize for him. in entirety. )

[Jacqli is carrying a small stack of books that she can only just see over the top of. This means she does, indeed see the floating office chair. As well as who that is in it. And she watches it skid across the plane before it eventually, slowly, rolls to its stop.

.... For the love of the Goddess.

She sets the books down on the floor - she'll return to them later - and walks over, one hand on her hip and a single eyebrow quirked.
]

That may be the most impressive arrival onto the Plane I've seen.
fallbythesword: (are you calling me?)

[She'll be gentle. Mostly.

She closes the rest of the distance, sets the books down on the Plane floor and reaches up to smooth at his hair. (It probably doesn't work very well. But whatever.)
]

Nothing of consequence. Especially compared to this. What happened?

[one thing that Menzies is not expecting today is for a desk chair to go rolling past her at a ludicrous speed. when the colour of the armour tips her off to who's on the desk chair, however, she has to admit that it's not as surprising as it might be. but it is interesting enough that she runs after it, catching up as it slows to a stop]

Agent Daytona! Looks like you've been having one 'ell of a-- [but she cuts herself off when she sees Delta floating next to him] Oh, hello. That's new.

[despite her choice of words, she isn't actually greeting Delta. she's not sure exactly what she's seeing, and she certainly isn't expecting it to be an actual person. she just looks at him curiously before turning to raise an eyebrow at York. it seems there are a few things he's going to need to explain today]

[she thankfully has no idea that he's still worrying about the experiment. that's an experience that she's very much ready to put behind her. unfortunately, she misunderstands his comment about his situation, though. she scoffs] Stuck in space? What, your ship get lost?

[that eyebrow is still up, coupled with a look that is asking if he's really going to make her go question-by-question on this] And, ah, what's "Delta" when it's at 'ome?
fallbythesword: (i want to break the spell)

[personal profile] fallbythesword 2014-05-19 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[She's about to say something, but then Delta chimes in, and she doesn't get the chance. She stares, instead - she knows him for what he is, clearly. She's seen plenty of AI in her time. The question is, when did York get one, and what is its function...? She is officially highly curious about this!]

New equipment... [Blatantly ignoring your request to not listen to him? YEP.] He has a somewhat valid point, if you really would be tracked. Though, "a matter of time" is still vague. I'd come here too. [Beat.] What's his name?
grip_on_reality: (Interested)

You what? [congratulations to York, as he has managed to properly startle her. her expression is serious when she adds:] Do you need help? [because her teleporter might be able to give him a hand in a situation like this]

[but she just blinks at Delta when he starts talking, surprised. at his final comment, though, she smirks] Ohhh, is he now? It does sound like 'is field work's going well for 'im at the moment. [because obviously Delta needs to be introduced to sarcasm]

[she chuckles at York] He does 'ave more personality than most computers I've met. [admittedly, she's both enjoying the opportunity to tease York and intrigued by how aware Delta seems to be] Are there a lot of 'em like that in the future?
fallbythesword: (and girls are so vain)

Delta...

[She quirks an eyebrow again... and she smiles, a secretive and faintly devious sort of thing.]

He saw me in my underwear after I had been experimented on.

[Ahhh, it's good to be the Queen of the Poker Face...]
themystery: (♻ Guardian of the Park)

he'll speak next tag if York doesn't beat him to it.

[ As cats are wont to do, this kitten darts after the explosively-moving rolling chair all the way until it stops. Then he jumps back and stays low to the ground, watching for more movement with comical amounts of focus. His ears rotate at the conversation and his attention slowly trails from the chair to the person in it. Sissel shifts then, moving into a more comfortable laying-down position as if he wasn't waiting for the chair to spontaneously start to roll while hardly noticing York in the first place. His tail twitches languidly; he hasn't forgotten you, chair, there's just something else that's got his interest for now. ]

[well that's a thing that will grab some attention.]

Ah, now there's a thought! Some more furniture might may the place look a little more homely.

[well, he can think that, at least.]

[Sometimes, having access to the Plane has its advantages. Being able to check in with teammates during a mission is one of them, especially after one of them was on the ship they needed to get on.]

York? Hey York, are you he--?

[And then he spots him. And chair he hasn't seen on the Plane before right nearby.] Ah, he is here. [Giving that chair a confused look, he runs over, a jet pack secured on his pack. He's unaware of eventful trip York's had so far.] York, are you okay?

[ That gets Sissel to stand up and make his way over. He sits in front of York's foot and looks up at him, little kitten eyes narrowed while he watches Delta. That's just... that's just odd. He's never seen anything like that before.

For a moment, or rather for no moments, time stops. Everything is frozen and there's a figure and a voice inside York's mind. Technology has no place here, no matter how realistic the brainwave patters, and it's just Sissel and York. Curiosity is rolling off this cat like heat off a desert road. ]

Hi. That was quite an entrance. Do that often?

[ York doesn't have to reply in the same manner, perfectly capable of breaking the spell and speaking aloud, but he's welcome to stay in the timeless Realm of the Dead if he wishes for the reprieve from Delta. Whatever works for him. ]
grip_on_reality: (Listening)

[personal profile] grip_on_reality 2014-06-01 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[she eyes him, unconvinced] Uh-huh. And, uh, how exactly are you planning to get out of space?

[at Delta's response, she snorts] All right, consider me corrected. Looks like computers are just as literal in the future. [meaning she'll obviously have to teach Delta about sarcasm later. and she smirks at York because yes, she heard Delta's commentary. but don't worry, she's not going to tease him. too much]

[when York begins to explain about AIs, however, her interest is piqued]
Actually, he 'asn't. So, what, you're the first to get one? And the rest of your lot 'ave all got 'em coming, too?

[To start a little bit of trouble~]

Not quite. The amount of clothing I was wearing was irrelevant, actually. The size of my breasts increased without warning. It was incredibly inconvenient.

[Doot doot~ She is not sorry, York. Good luck.]
