hide and seek
[A fair amount of time after Wolf's transmission, the lights go out, stars and all. When they snap back on a minute later, anyone currently on the Plane will end up at the gates of a run-down, darkened city that looks a bit like old Tokyo, except with the same Plane sky overhead. There are bent and beat-up posters plastered all over, with illustrations of some horrible monsters and a riddle.]
To win hide and seek,
hide from darkness and seek the light.
[The monsters aren't out yet, and there are no residents to be found except the Plane's captives, but there is an eerie, empty feeling about the place.
On closer inspection, this 'sanctuary' is really a dead end. The buildings surrounding it are high with boarded windows, and the alleyways are quick dead ends.
Also, no one has powers anymore. Sorry!]
[ooc: plot start! There will be a post for prisoners going up in a couple of days.
Threadhopping/threadjacking is much encouraged. Don't worry about order, as I will be jumping in occasionally to screw everything up :D]

[she leaves the key in the lock. after what she's seen here, she isn't going to bet on her chances of continuing to run around with it safely while the other keys are found--because she has a feeling doing that is their next step. for now, she stands at the gate for a few moments, considering her options and developing a plan of action. then she pulls out the radio that she got from Agent Washington all that time ago and makes a broadcast:]
This is DI Menzies. I repeat, DI Menzies with a message for--well, anybody who can 'ear this! Look, if you're listening, I'm gonna assume that you've been thrown into this horror film, too. And basically, there's a gate 'ere, on one end of town. You can't miss it, seeing as it's gold. It's got five--that's five--locks on it. I found the key for one in a building along the main road in an area covered in what's left of decorations. The key is also golden and marked with a symbol--looks like each of 'em is gonna have a different one. If you can locate any of the other four keys, bring it 'ere, and we'll put it to good use.
But watch out. I encountered a creature out there, too--looked a lot like a tiger, but much bigger, and faster, and if you can believe it, nastier. If you feel the ground shaking at all, it's not an earthquake. It's the creature. Get out of the open immediately. I repeat, do not let the creature see you! It's bigger than a building and faster than probably any of us.
Any other intel you've got, share it over the radio. And Riku, if you're listening to this, you 'ad better radio back.

[that done, she decides to stay where she is for the moment to see if anyone replies. after all, she knows that most crises are solved first with information and second with action]
