[Menzies appears in the middle of the Plane clearly arriving straight from work. she's in a suit, as well as wearing an ID card hanging from her neck and a belt of police gear around her waist. however, her hair is disheveled and she looks very concerned about something. ignoring her surroundings, she pulls her right arm against her, twisting the fabric of her shirt so see can see the underside of it. she frowns down at a small round scortch mark on her shirt for a moment before she presses against it, still frowning, but showing no sign of pain as she prods at the area]
[after a moment, she lets her arm go and now stares down at her own hands in confusion--as though she expects to find some sort of answer there. she considers silently for a bit, chewing her lip. but eventually she sighs before mumbling to herself:] I wish I had a knife...
[ooc: Menzies' wish has had the accidental side effect of making her invulnerable for a month! Just a warning that if you give her something sharp, she's going to do a little (ultimately harmless) test with it.]

Your clothing looks quite atrocious enough as it is without taking a knife to it.

[He can provide one if she needs it - it's right there on his waist, after all - but after taking a look at her condition he's a little curious as to why.]
Don't think it'll help with that scorch mark you've got on your shirt, unless ye mean to cut it out.

[Something odd happening to Menzies? Of course Kay's going to show up. It's almost like a beacon.]
What's goin' on? [The Plane's been pretty damn strange lately.]

the only icon i have with the knife in it right now is a crack one oops
[ And who is it but Clear, again! He's sitting ontop of a nearby building, which is probably very unexpected, even considering him. He jumps down without a problem, and pulls a knife out of his large coat pocket. ]
I have one!

But while he's been hoping to see her there today, seeing her like this isn't how he imagined. His eyes widen at the sight of her, and his eyes immediately scan for any sign of blood in her hairline, but that's before he spots the mark on her shirt. He's running to her side before he knows it.]
Patricia, what happened? [Now that he's closer, he can see that mark even better. It doesn't make him feel relieved, though. That's a telltale sign of a gunpowder burn, but where is the wound? He gently reaches out to her, putting a hand on her arm in hopes to not startle her before he reaches up to smooth her hair back with his other hand. She's so very lucky he wants to pretend he didn't hear a remark about a knife.]
