Entrez vous.
[He thought it'd be 'one of those days' when it'd started with the hazy realization that he'd had a horrible nightmare. Worse than the nightmares about Newfoundland. Even worse than the nightmares about England. Perhaps he should have just stayed home, but there's no use regretting.
He stands in the midst of the starfield - the Astral Plane - and after carefully looking around him reaches into his pocket for his phone. As expected there is no signal, but it still seems to be working otherwise. He dearly would like to know if America has found his way here as well, but he resists the urge to call despite no bars, or to call out. With a wan smile he huffs softly to himself.]
It's not like I need him to sort this for me.
[Pocketing the phone again he looks up to see an information kiosk has appeared not too far away. He approaches it, eager to know more about this place. When prompted by the sign he speaks up,]
Help, please. [Although it is all automated, it doesn't hurt to be polite.]
[He reads Broderick Naismith's brochure twice, then folds it up and places it in his jacket pocket. He tilts his head thoughtfully as he speaks softly to himself- a habit he will tell you helps him organize his thoughts.]
I like experiments well enough, but not so much being in them. Still, it would be rather interesting to meet people from other worlds... Science fiction has become reality. [He pauses for a long moment as his mind wanders through the possibilities.] There would be so much I could learn. And seeing as time has stopped back home – or I will be returned to the same time – there are no worries about something happening there... It wouldn't be good for me to be away from home for long though, no matter the time shenanigans going on.
Yes. Then, let's see who I can find.

[He reaches out to take hold of the paper, leaning forward to read the part Canada's pointing out.]
Ah. It's not that up to date, unfortunately. Meredith's still around, I believe, but the others… I haven't heard anything about the twins or Keys since, but I believe Grey is deceased. There's another man, called Kross- he ran a sale of the store's items a while back. Some of the others bought items from him; you'd have to ask them about details. And… there was a researcher, a lady by the name of Laith Kolter, who said she was taking measurements of us. I couldn't say what for, though.

[Once Hawk is done he takes a pen from his jacket pocket and makes some notes in the margins of the brochure.]
Thank you. Anything else horribly out of date in this?
no subject
Hmm… well, some of the people who've been here longer should be able to fill you in on experiments and mergers; I can't say that I've noticed any of those myself. Other than that… I don't know who Nathan is, though I may simply not yet have met him, of course, and I think there are a few more things that'd been brought to the Plane since. Like the movie theatre.

I wasn't thinking of it, but I suppose I could if it needs to be done...
It would take me a long time to gather the most accurate and relevant information though, I imagine. Especially if I have to find many people to interview. [He glances over to the vast Astral Plane to complete that thought.]
no subject
I think some of the others could probably fill in most of the blanks, but… it couldn't hurt to check with everyone. Maybe it'd be best to divide up the task of interviewing people.
no subject
I imagine it would be. Is there any clue as to the current number of people who can come here?

no subject
How many people do you know?

[He tilts his head slightly as he thinks aloud,]
Now, how would be the best way to coordinate this?
no subject
Ah… that's a good question. We'd need to attract as many people as we could, I'd think, for the best results…
no subject
Yes, but it might be hard to coordinate something with everyone at the same time, with people popping in and out of the Plane all the time.
Mm. Too bad there doesn't seem to be TV or radio, but there is this mail box system... would there be a way to get a letter to everyone?
[Not on the Plane on five minutes and he's already thinking of basically spamming the mailboxes... how embarrassing. But, in a good cause, he hopes.]
no subject
That's true.
Well… I'm not sure it covers everyone. I don't have one myself… But it's worth trying.
no subject
If I may ask though, why don't you have a mailbox?
no subject
Ah… well, right now, I'm not at home. And it looks like I'll be travelling for a while…
no subject
Eh? You mean, the mail from the Plane goes to your home in your reality?

[He sighs and wracks a hand through his hair, tugging slightly on one lock before letting his hand fall to his side again.]
I've opened quite the barrel of monkeys by stepping through that door, eh?
I'll have to think about that for myself then, although I have the feeling that the pros may outweigh the cons for now.
So how might I get a hold of you again, so we can exchange notes on this project?
no subject
Well… I fear there may not be a better way than hoping we run into each other here. I suppose we could leave a message for each other, in an easily identifiable place… the trouble is whether the others would disturb such a message or not.
no subject
You're right, I suppose there is no better way for now. [Another sigh. (He worries. It's what he does.) But then his expression lightens.]
In any case, I thank you very much for your help with this, Hawk. I'm sure that we will compile some very useful information.
no subject
Maybe we can think of something to deal with that at some point too.
Definitely. We'll both do out best. [and he holds out a hand to shake on it.]
no subject
I look forward to working with you.

Same here!
