[the most noticeable feature of Menzies' appearance today is the bandage wrapped around her head from the injury she recently sustained on a case at home. though she's still dealing with the resulting headaches and a concussion, the fact that she's wearing a suit and her name badge are evidence that she's back at work. and predictably, she isn't letting it slow her down on the Plane either; she's on a mission today]
[at the moment, she is setting a pile of flyers on the information kiosk. after finding out from York about his murder, she's made it her business to tell everyone she can about Christopher. anyone who reads one of the flyers will find that it is a typed public service announcement, warning the Plane residents that the man known as Christopher is an armed and dangerous murderer. it includes a rough sketch of his appearance (that she pulled a few strings to get), which shows his brown hair and red eyes. it also notes that he is roughly in his 40s, gives an estimated height and weight, and states his origin as early 20th century America, Earth. in general, she's included all the information she has about him]
Now we'll see if anybody listens... [she eyes the stack of flyers, thinking if there's anything else she should add. but after a moment, she turns away with a sigh. it seems to be the best she can do, under the circumstances. she mutters softly:] And we'll see if there's any retaliation...
[with that cheerful thought, she heads away across the Plane, walking in the general direction of the kitchen]
[ooc: Menzies has also placed a copy of the flyer in the all the Plane mailboxes (except Christopher's), so feel free to assume your character has seen it!]

He considers minding his own business, but he's stared too long to just go on without saying anything. So.]
Um, you look like you got hurt pretty badly. Are you sure you should be walking around?
no subject
So...are you new 'ere, or 'ave I just not been lucky enough to run into you before? [in contrast to her rather harsh opening words, she gives him a smirk]
no subject
Xion isn't terrifying, or is she taller than he is. He misses her quite suddenly.]
Yeah, but head things... Never mind.
[He rubs at the back of his head.]
I'm not new here, I'm just busy a lot. My name's Roxas.
no subject
Nice to meet you, Roxas. [she gives him a nod] DI Patricia Menzies. So, what sort of world are you from that keeps you so busy?
[her question is casual, but there's an ulterior motive. just from Roxas' attire, she's guessing he's probably the person Riku mentioned--the member of the Organization who's come to the Plane and he thinks is probably in on the plot to destroy the world. obviously she can't judge him on such incomplete information, so she's going to do a little digging of her own]
no subject
Man, trying to figure out how people work is hard.]
Um... [Shit, he doesn't want to give away too much.] It's just my job, really. I have a pretty pushy boss.

But of course, he does.]
You should. Aren't you a police officer? It's terrible if a criminal will get away from someone because of a bad drawing. Of course, I think it would be fun if a more creative artist like a Picasso did police sketches. Then it lets the imagination of the public roam free in thinking about their criminals, and it exposes them to good art, too.

[she pauses, not quite sure what to say because she still doesn't know what to make of him being here. from what York said, he can become dangerous in an instant, so she hasn't yet ruled out the possibility that he's come to do something about her meddling. still, she isn't going to jump to conclusions either]
So...did you come to autograph copies?
no subject
You want my autograph? I'm honoured. For a friend, of course!

Menzies? [He rolls up the flyer, hurries to her side.] What happened?
no subject
So what 'ave you been up to? [she eyes him. knowing his world, his absence hasn't meant anything good]
no subject
[He crosses his arms, flyer still rolled up in one hand.] More of the same. It's... never-ending. What about you? Any other idiots try anything and fail miserably?
no subject
No more than normal. Just an idiot here who apparently tried something and didn't fail. [her expression is grim at that comment]
Oh, and I met your mystery, ah, universe-buddy. Assuming the blond kid's who you meant, anyway.
no subject
[... Blink!] ... Yeah. He's blond. .... You met him?
[He knows it was bound to happen sooner or later, but... somehow, he still wasn't expecting it. And definitely not right now.]

[Kay has a good way of introducing himself. He's holding the flyer, and while he's taking it very seriously, he also might be making it into a paper airplane as he goes to lean against the kitchen counter.]
What's this all about, anyway? [He has a mild look of concern.]
no subject
[her tone is businesslike as she explains the situation with Christopher, though] Found out this "Christopher" decided to murder another Plane resident. The resident in question says it was unprovoked, and for what it's worth, I believe 'im. So I'm getting the word out.
no subject
[He tilts his had at Menzies, in a sort of I'll give you three guesses way. That is, if through some temporal nonsense it hasn't even happened for the Doctor yet.]
"Christopher", huh? Any chance anybody can do somethin' about it?
no subject
Tch. [her expression sours] If you've got an idea, I'm all ears. Think about it--if we trap 'im here, he can just go 'ome and appear somewhere else. Trap 'im at 'ome, and he can still come here. And--not that it'd be an option--but killing 'im? Wouldn't even be permanent. [she sighs. she's spent some time thinking this through, but she has yet to come up with any workable ideas, and it's frustrating] Any other options you know of?
no subject
It'd be enough of an irritation to open up negotiations.

Detective Menzies, hey! [He jogs towards her, his weapons secured in their normal spots on his armor.] Do you have a minute? ...What happened to you? [He sees the bandage now.]
no subject
[at his question, though, she rolls her eyes] Just a bloke looking to get charged with assault. [because if Wash hasn't already heard about it from North, she's not planning to volunteer the details unless pressed to]
no subject
You realize things could get much worse than that if the guy who murdered York finds out what you're doing, right? [If he sounds a little annoyed/worried? Yeah, that's because he is.]
