{Diva appears on the Astral Plane, and if she was looking bad before, it’s a lot worse now. But after what happened at her new "home", it'd be considered a miracle she was even alive. She’s nude, but covered head to toe in blood. Bandages are wrapped around her in certain places, and stitches stand out against her skin where limbs seem to have been reattached.

As soon as weight is put on her feet, she falls, as her ankles crack and bend to the side. She whimpers for a moment, curling in on herself to hold her ankles tenderly, but as her arms protest the movement as well, she finally screams in agonized pain.}

[winces because that looked painful for her] Yeah, I do. It's bothersome, having to figure out who I am all over again. What happens to you when you die?

It...gets better. {Starts to unwrap a bandage around her arm, since, well, she doesn't know a better way to illustrate. There's still a deep gash around her entire arm, showing the muscle and bone underneath, yet it barely bleeds. The muscle, bone, and skin seems to be shifting, warping, and growing, just replacing the lost tissue.}

[watches it curiously] That is a bit like regenerating, actually. But it's just the damaged tissue that does this, right?

[madamemoiselle]

{Nods} It was...before, too...But...whatever that stuff...was...it just kept doing damage, so...I had to keep fixing it.

[nods] Until the damage was outweighing the recovery rate?

[madamemoiselle]

{Shakes her head} No...it always gets better. {Diva is breathing easier now that they've mostly healed, but starts pulling out the stitches, which is not a fun process either} It just will take me...longer. Like growing back...whole limbs is hard and painful...so I usually still have the...other half to just hold up to it so it'll...attach again.

Joel...did much worse things...than this, and I'm still alive. But the if it's...really bad, then I'll stay dead longer.

[frowns] No one should do that to you or anyone else.

Humans can be...really mean with how they...justify things. It was alright...because it was for science or.....something. But I don't think...I don't think it was fair. {Diva pulls out the last stitch with a pained snarl, and starts to unwrap the rest of the bandages}

Joel was a monster. More than I've...ever been.

They can be. I've seen a lot of species do it to each other, though. Too many. [frowns] Who was Joel?

...Joel was the person that kept me locked up in that tower and experimented on me for fifty years or so. Well, until Saya let me out.

[a bit surprised] Saya freed you?

[madamemoiselle]

And named me! She heard me singing in the tower and came to see what it was. I couldn't speak very well back then, but when she asked what my name was, I didn't know what to tell her. So Saya named me and asked me if I would sing at Joel's birthday party if she let me out. Well, I didn't know what everything else meant, but I did know what "let out" meant.

So Saya let me out, but then left me to go pick some kind of flower with Haji...Ne, I hadn't been fed that week yet, so I went to the birthday party, and there were a lot of people...and Joel...there~

[frowns a bit because it sounds like a massacre but nods] So you fed. But that makes it sound like Saya is - was - on Joel's side.

She is. Joel raised Saya like a daughter. Saya never even knew that I existed until she found me that one day.

{Glances away with a frown.} I know.

I'm sorry. That isn't fair to you. Can't say I find Saya too impressive sounding from all this. You'd thinking finding you locked up might be suspicious.

[madamemoiselle]

I guess so. I'm just the unlucky one, really~ It could have just as easily been Saya that was locked up and me that got to live comfortably and happily. {Definitely bitter}

But it's bad luck. Nothing to do about it now.

Ah, luck. Never really believed in it, myself. Just events that change through time. But if we're going with luck, I think I'm a bit unlucky, too. Not quite in that same way, though.

{Smiles again} Maybe, but it's alright. The good things kind of balance out, right?

[smiles fondly at her] That is a very hopeful outlook. That's good! I quite fancy hope.

Well, my life would be pretty sad without it. I can always hope for better, and that way, I can't be sad. Besides, if you live for a long time, being sad all the time would be a bad way to live all that time. It's better to enjoy it anyway, I think~

{Laughs} Ne, but I guess I beat you to it!
