{Diva appears on the Astral Plane, and if she was looking bad before, it’s a lot worse now. But after what happened at her new "home", it'd be considered a miracle she was even alive. She’s nude, but covered head to toe in blood. Bandages are wrapped around her in certain places, and stitches stand out against her skin where limbs seem to have been reattached.

As soon as weight is put on her feet, she falls, as her ankles crack and bend to the side. She whimpers for a moment, curling in on herself to hold her ankles tenderly, but as her arms protest the movement as well, she finally screams in agonized pain.}

Would...talking help take your mind off it? Even if I did most of it...I don't want you to strain yourself.

It's...not really... {She shakes her head slightly as she starts to unwrap the bandages around her ankles with a small chuckle} No, it sounds....pretty bad...to say I'm used to...it. I've...dealt with...something like this before.

{The bandage comes off on the first ankle that she 'fixed', and just like that, it's completely healed as if there had never been any damage at all.} But, ne...tell me about...you.

I'm very sorry to hear that. No one should go through something like this even once.

[Caught off guard a little by the insta-healing and the question.] Me? Ah...w-well, I'm from China originally. But I'm living in Tokyo, Japan now--I'm an exchange student. I wanted to further my education and experience Japan. But I have to work pretty hard; school is expensive, so I work all sorts of jobs. There isn't...really much more to say. [Smiles.] I've got a really normal life. [Liar]

It sounds...nice, though. Even if...you have to work hard, I bet...Li has lots of friends. Living a normal life.....it's easier that way.

{The second bandage comes off with the same result, and Diva wiggles her toes slightly to make sure they attached alright}

It...it is pretty nice. I've made some good friends.

But you must have good friends too, right?

Not really. Here...people like me...but...home it's different. I'm not the same....so humans don't...like me. I don't have any friends.

{Diva pushes herself up with one arm, the other hanging limply at her side, and obviously unattached from the rest of her arm since the bandage surrounding it is poking out at an odd angle. She takes that arm gingerly and starts to quite literally push it back into place.}

That's...well. Well, at least you have friends here, right?

So...and I don't mean to sound rude, but, do you mean that you're not human? [It's getting easier not to immediately jump to the conclusion that people are Contractors, but still...]

I hope so. I...really like the people...here. {Her teeth clench in pain with a small whimper as bone once again cracks into place so it can heal, but she smiles sheepishly with a small laugh}

...I was wondering when...Li would ask. It's not a...rude question at all. But...no, I'm not. I'm a Chiropteran...Ne, the closest thing...that would be a vampire. But only because I have to...drink human blood to live.

I'm sure of it. [Smiles, though it falters a little at her sound of pain.]

A vampire? I had no idea vampires were real. [Pauses, because he's suddenly reminded of Havoc. Drinking blood...it's like an obeisance, after all.] But if it's blood you need, if it'll help you heal faster...[He pulls his sleeve back and extends his wrist toward her.]

{Shakes her head and instead just takes his hand gently into her own} No, I'm full now. Ah, that not-Joel...well...I guess he figured out that...I need blood to heal. Hardly any...of the blood on me...is mine. I was in a tub of someone...else's afterward.

[Sighs in relief.] Well that at least is good to hear. I was afraid all this blood was yours...

[madamemoiselle]

No, no, if it was I'd definitely be passed out. When I'm hurt, I don't bleed as much as a human anyways, which is a good thing since I'm naturally....I think the word is...ane---anemic?

{She pulls off the last set of bandages and throws it in the pile of stitches and bandages with a nod} All done~!

Y-yeah, I suppose that makes sense.

[Smiles genuinely at her.] I'm glad. Is the pain gone?

[madamemoiselle]

It'll be sore for a few more minutes, but that's nothing. {Pauses thoughtfully before she leans forward to give him a very gentle hug, closing her eyes and speaking softly} ...And thank you Li.

[Beams at her and it's only after she starts hugging him that he realizes she's naked. Cue bright red embarrassment! He springs backward and rubs the back of his head, averting his eyes.]

Y-y-you're welcome! Um, y-you must be cold, I'll, hold on--[Poofs out, poofs back in a moment later and holds out a blanket to her.]--H-here you go.

{Laughs and takes the blanket, wrapping it around herself with an even more content smile} Ne, Li is such a gentleman. It's a dying breed of person, which is a shame~~

But I'm glad there are still nice people like Li. ♥

Ah, w-well...you're welcome, I guess...[Doesn't know what to say so he just blushes and smiles.]

What's living in Japan like, though? I lived in Vietnam for a while, and traveled through China, but I've never been to Japan. It seems like a lot of people here are from there too.

[Glad for the change in subject.] Ah, Japan is quite nice. Tokyo is such a large city, and it's so full of life. There's always something going on. I'm used to things being more quiet--I came from a small town in China, a village really--but I've grown to really like all the activity.

[madamemoiselle]

New York is kind of the same way. It's big and bustling, and there are so many people that it's kind of amazing! Ah, it makes me kind of remember just how big the world is. That's one thing about living so long; it really seems like the world is shrinking. Ah, in 1890, traveling was horse and carriage, and nothing else. Things have really changed since then.

You were alive in 1890? That's pretty amazing. You must know all kinds of things!

Oh, I guess! More from experience than anything. I was born in 1833, but I didn't leave Paulliac until 50 years later...Ah, I got to be a part of the Russian Imperial court before the revolution, see both world wars, oh, Rasputin and Martin Bormann were both my Chevalier, and see the Vietnam War. Compared to those things, this time I've been awake is really slow.

....But I won't complain. It's nice.

Wow...yeah, I can imagine how after so much excitement you'd want some peace and quiet.

Well, comparatively. Saya is still trying to kill me, so it's not that quiet or peaceful, but...Well, at least it's not that and being a charming, pretty face for a government official I'm supposed to charm. Besides, being with old men all day, ne, it's really boring. It was more interesting to be with the younger soldiers.
