[015].
[Today, Jamie has a box of decorations in his hands, a slightly bemused expression on his face...and is half-muttering to himself.]
Now, I've seen some strange things in my day, but I'll not say as I've ever seen anything like those wee beasties before. Especially not ones that want that much coffee.
Aye, well. Maybe I'd better set up what I wanted to here. I'd not want to think what'll happen if they turn up again and Victoria sees them.
[Possibly lots of screaming, or indignation, or both. But here he may not have to worry about it, and he can focus on trying to do what he'd planned on before he was interrupted by rude, coffee-drinking aliens. The forest seems like the best place to put things together, and there so happens to be a little clearing that he can use. He sets the box down and reaches into it to try and extract a single string of lights from it to start with, but whoever put it away last time didn't do a very good job. So he winds up with a giant tangled mess in his hands, and his mouth pulls off to one side.]
Och.

Och.

(you mean best pun, clearly)
But as she continues to study her hands, he wonders if maybe he shouldn't have said anything. Maybe even with that kiss, she's not ready for what he's suggesting, and something almost anxious starts to creep into his eyes. Maybe he's made a terrible mistake.
When she lifts her hand and brushes her thumb against his cheek, he can feel his heart lurch, and he swallows heavily. It's more than he dared hope for, and it takes him a second before he can respond back.]
Y-ye mean it? Ye really would want me to? Well, if we're to be courting then...
[He lets the hand on her chin drop, only to smile as he reaches for her free hand and curl his fingers around hers.]
Would ye mind so terribly if I kissed ye again, even if it's not the usual way of doing things?
no subject
proper or not
rather than respond to him with words, she simply leaned toward the boy and turning her head just slightly, victoria lifted her chin to graze her lips to his own, pressed against his and gave him the kiss he was asking for
after some time, she pulled back but only slightly, enough that with her words her lips grazed against his own ) Of course I don’t mind, Jamie, I could never mind something such as that.
no subject
When she only pulled back that tiniest of amounts, he smiled - he couldn't help it really, given that reaction and her words. And he stayed where he was, his lips barely brushing against hers when he replied.]
Aye? Well, I'd best warn ye I could get used to that, then.
[In fact, he felt like he could kiss her all day, given half a chance, and he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her just a little closer. He didn't try to kiss her again just yet, though, because holding her was good, too. After a moment, though, he did pull back just enough to ask her a question more properly.]
Look, I know that you're supposed to be escorted if we go places together, but how do ye think that's going to work when we're in the TARDIS? I'll not say as the Doctor'll be the best choice for that. Ye know how he gets. But do ye have any ideas on how'll we manage it?
no subject
she raised her brows as he pulled, even slightly, to ask her about escorts and the like )
Well... ( shifting against him, she gave a light shrug of her shoulders ) I'd say it really hardly matters you know. We're not even in my time anymore and honestly, I've done worse things than spend time with a boy without an escort.
I suppose, though, if you really wanted to follow tradition, we could see about asking someone here...?
(/peeks at email. Lenneth has the best comments)
[Of course he doesn't think that's a bad thing - at all. But he has to admit she's got a point. They're not in her time, or his time, and there's nothing stopping them from not having escorts if they don't want them.]
Look, it's not that I mind not following tradition either. I just thought it'd be something ye might want to do. If ye don't, though, I'm fine with it.
[He grins down at her, one of those crooked, slightly mischievous sorts of grins.] Besides, I'd just ask Oliver and he'd likely leave us alone five minutes in anyway because he wants to see us together.
she was feeling chatty!
( while she generally didn't like the strange things she wouldn't have ever said that it was a bad thing that had happened — she got to meet jamie, and the doctor, and despite it all, there had been some fun times )
It would be the proper thing to do. Should we find someone that can perform the duties as they should be, we... should do so. ( try as she might to go against what she was taught, the traditions have been rather hard wired into her brain and beaten into her rather mercilessly thanks to the era she's originally from. it doesn't stop her from wanting to be with jamie, nor does it obviously keep her from being (relatively) intimate with him but, they should try to do things the way she was taught should they have the chance
fortunately, for the moment, they haven't anyone that victoria would trust as an escort save for the doctor or oliver — and neither one of them would make a good, actual escort. the doctor is far too easily bored and distracted and as jamie just pointed out, oliver would just sneak off to leave them together anyway being that he seemed to be thrilled at the thought of them together )
Ooh dear... you naughty thing. ( lifting a palm, she curled her fingers save for the index to waggle it at him in a faux scolding fashion ) That's very bad, Jamie McCrimmon! You should be interested in being polite and follow all the rules of courting. ( like him, her lips tugged into a mischievous smile )
Clearly she wants to play too.
So, by that logic, it shouldn't be something they should worry too much about until they managed it. And if things wound up like they have with their ceremonial marriage...well, Jamie thinks he could live with that. His grin stretches wider at seeing that crooked finger.]
Oh, aye? Should I now? If I did that, then I wouldn't be able to do this, now would I?
[And he reaches out to playfully grab at her hand so he can catch it - or try to, anyway. Depends on if she lets him catch her or not.]
"how do i has rp too, mom?" 8'D
Do wh— ( her lips curled into a grin as he took her hand. giving a shake of her head, she chuckled at him ) And just what are you going to do now that you've taken my hand, mm?
As it should be. Bringing her up to be proper RPer. 8D
...well, okay, maybe not that wicked, because when it came down to it he would be a gentleman for her. Or as much of one as he was capable of bring. But that isn't about to stop him from enjoying a wee bit of teasing.]
Oh, I don't know. There's quite a lot of things I could think of to do, after all. Suppose it depends on what you'll let me get away with.
she's forever screwed into being a nerd xD
G, get away with? Good grief, just what are you thinking of?
Yup, but it's totally worth it. xD
Do ye really want to know, Victoria? I've learned a fair bit about things these past few years, ye ken.
more than you know 8D
Learned—? ( the words "oh my" just kept dancing about in her mind, now ) And just... Just what have you learned?
no subject
Aye, well...there's quite a lot of things. Mind ye, there is the question of where to start, but I suppose there is something I've had in mind for that. That is, if ye want to know about it.
no subject
Tell me. ( the moment the words left her mouth, she bit onto her lip in anticipation. goodness only knew what he might say next )
no subject
Well, then, I suppose ye say I've learned this.
[The wicked grin returned as he curled his fingers in and started to move them, fully intending on giving her a quite thorough tickling.
Other things wouldn't be gentlemanly at all, now would they?]
no subject
... that was sneaky, Jamie!
no subject
Aye, well...I suppose maybe it was. But ye don't seem to have minded it terribly much, now have ye?
[Rather than make another move to tickle her, though, he simply stays where he is - but he does hold out his hand to her.]
Tell ye what, though. I'll make it up to ye by getting ye ice-cream from the kitchen. No tricks, promise.
10 000 years later . . .
Oh? ( that happens to perk her up all the more and giving him a soft nod, she laced her fingers together before herself ) That would be lovely. Can I have sprinkles too? ( a light chuckle )
There was much rejoicing?
[She can have anything she likes, truthfully. He's certainly not going to complain...well, not at the moment. He's too happy right now. And there's a small smile on his face that doesn't seem to want to go away as he starts towards the kitchen.]
Do ye want chocolate ones or the wee rainbow kind? Assuming the kitchen's not come up with some sort of odd ones instead.
