happy halloween
[You wake up in a bedroom. You don't remember it. That's strange. At least the dressers have your clothes in them. There is a hospital ID bracelet on your wrist with your room number, just in case you forget.
Why don't you go outside, wander around? Explore your floor, go down the stairs, check out the other rooms?
You could introduce yourself!
Oh, wait. Introduce yourself? You can't. Because you don't remember your name. You don't remember anything.
Sorry about that.]

Can ye imagine where they're getting all the water to fill these things?
[He follows after her, looking down at the pools thoughtfully.]
Why put us in a place like this, though? I'm not sure that makes sense.
no subject
[but she has to agree with that question] No idea. Somewhere they think they can keep us in, maybe? But you're right; it's rather posh for a prison.
no subject
I would think we'd have cells, with doors, if we were in a prison. Maybe a pallet or some hay to sleep on. Not this. Unless you're right and they can keep us here. Maybe we should see if we can find a window or a door that leads outside and see if we can open it.

[and she turns, making for the stairwell again]

Hey, would ye look at that?
no subject
Were the hell is this? Or...what is it?
[she steps out among the baths, still gaping at that starry sky]

[He has no more idea than she does, truly. And try as he might, he can't come up with any good explanations. Save one.]
...are we dead, do ye think?
no subject
[but at that question, she gives him a startled look--it's frightening how plausible that explanation sounds. but she shakes her head] No. It must be...some other world or something. A different planet. That's probably it.
no subject
[That almost makes sense, although he can't fathom why. He's never been on another planet. Has he?]
Well, if that's the case, wouldn't there be...well, ground? Something to stand on?

I don't suppose a wee look around will hurt any. Come on, then, let's go. Which way would ye say we try first?

Are ye sure we're not dead?
[Or maybe they've just gone mad, because the place looks more than a bit like it was designed by someone who had.]
Aye, well, I suppose we'll have a fair amount of places to choose from, won't we?
no subject
[but she nods at that suggestion, her expression eager] Yeah. Come on, let's get a start. [she gestures ahead, across the starry landscape. and without waiting for a reply, she continues walking out onto the Plane]
