[When Jamie appears on the Plane this time, it's with two things - one being a shirt in his hands, and the other being a distinctly disgruntled look on his face. He is annoyed, and clearly the best thing to do about it is to come here and complain. A lot.]
Look, I thought that when we took this allergy stuff we were supposed to go back to the way we were. Everyone else seems to be fine, so how is it I'm stuck with these things?
['These things' happen to be a set of wings - the same wings that he had when he was a beastie. Apparently they've decided to stick around for awhile, even though the rest of him is back to normal. Well. Apart from the fact he can't actually wear that shirt he's holding at the moment, which isn't helping his mood much.]
This better not be the Plane's idea of something funny, I'm telling ye, or I'll...I'll...aye, well. I'll think of something. [What, he doesn't know, but he'll think of it. Muttering, he starts off in the direction of the ballroom. Maybe there's something that'll fit there.]
Why is it that this sort of thing always seems to happen, anyway? Everything's always going wrong one way or another...

it had been some time though and loneliness was getting to her. she had ventured onto the Plane and since nothing too odd had taken place, assumed everything was a-okay! now all she had to do was locate Jamie and make sure he was okay as well. of course it didn't take very long, he had a very distinctive voice and hearing that
beautifulaccent, she veered to look at him but was met with something shocking )J, Jamie—!? ( don't scream, Victoria. don't scream )
no subject
He whirls around at the sound of her voice, nearly dropping the shirt in the process - and giving her a very good view of the fact that the wings look to have grown right out of his back, although they're still that reddish-orange color they were before. Of course, turning to face her means there's a view of his front, too, but he's not exactly thinking about that right at the moment.]
V-Victoria! What are ye doing here?
no subject
What...
What happened to you—? ( the pollen of course, she knew that, the question fell from her lips before she could rightly stop it from doing so )
Jamie, does it hurt ...? ( her voice faltered, she reached a hand toward him but that faltered as well and she hesitated. the wings looked like they were true extensions of his normal being, they appeared to be truly coming from his body from what she'd seen on his back. wasn't something like that painful? she frowned, frightened for him )
no subject
They don't now. Anyway, there's nothing to be frightened of. They'll go away soon enough.
[Almost inaudibly, he adds:] ...I hope.
[He sighs, rubbing at the back of his neck briefly.] Look, I'm sorry I've left ye alone in the TARDIS, but it was worse, before this. I'd not have been able to explain it to ye, then.
no subject
( there was something about his tone that bothered her. did he really know if they would go away? maybe the Doctor could help him somehow... )
No, Jamie ... it's okay. I would have preferred to stay there anyway. If only to avoid being inflicted with whatever that pollen was doing to people. ( she frowns and nervously touches her palms together. the wings are still causing her to fret, but, he's still Jamie in the end. he just has a bit of an addition on him at the moment )
Do you ... think that maybe the Doctor could assist you with ... with, ah, with ... ( nervously, she motions toward his wings )
no subject
[If he was a beastie, then what would they have been? Still, he shakes his head.]
Och, I don't know. That allergy stuff was supposed to take care of it, but if it hasn't then what could the Doctor do?
Unless...[Something occurs to him then, and he snaps his fingers.] Hey, maybe that's it. There were some people who'd gotten affected quicker than I did. Maybe it's just taking longer for it to go away with me.
no subject
well, the Doctor is a very bright man. He might be able to do something to make it work faster—?
( she raises her brows at his fingers snapping, but her gaze continues to move toward is wings. his wings. it's so awkward to see him with extra appendages, she's having a hard time turning away from them )
Um, what? Oh—! ( coughing, she nods, trying to pull her gaze away from the strange pinions ) Oh, um, right... That might be it, yes.
no subject
Here. Ye can have a go at touching them if ye like. It'll not hurt me any.
[Well, unless she yanks or something, but he rather suspects if she decides to go through with the offer it's not going to be a forceful sort of thing.]
Besides, maybe that way you'll stop staring at them.
no subject
O, Oh no Jamie, that's okay— what if I tug something, or—? ( or somehow hurt him in doing so. she does flush pink at his comment about her staring. but how could she not? it wasn't every day that her friend sprouted wings, after all )
I'm sorry, it's just... well, you must understand why it's shocking to see you like this, of course.
( nervously, after a moment longer she does extend an arm and gently touches at one of the wings. it's very brief, just about only a graze before she yanks her hand back, having had enough with just that little, single touch )
Th, that's so odd...!
no subject
[But he's perfectly willing to let her touch his wing, which he wouldn't be with most people. That is, until she touches it that gently. He'd thought he wouldn't have felt anything there...but surprisingly, he does, and he makes a small, startled sound as the wing flares out of his own accord. Luckily, it's away from Victoria, not towards her, but he takes a step back all the same before giving her an apologetic look.]
Ah, s-sorry. I'd not meant for that to happen.
no subject
( she winces and steps back startled when his appendage jerks. her hands are raised in defense, not that she could have stopped a wing from hitting her or anything, she'd relieved that it jerked the opposite direction though. sighing with relief, she frowns to him )
Do you have no proper control over them?
no subject
[This time he turns so there's no danger of hitting her with them and starts to move them back and forth - slowly, but the flapping motion is still quite evident.]
It's just...er...I felt it a bit more than I thought I would when ye touched them.
no subject
I guess you can, it must be so strange, though.
( she raised her brows at him ) Felt more? What does that mean?

I can move them, if I like.
[Which he does, turning a bit first so as to not smack Kay when he unfurls them. He figures it's probably a bad idea to clock your friends in the head with your wings.]
I've not tried anything beyond that. I was...er...a bit preoccupied earlier.
no subject
Well, if you go down, I'll help you get back up. Might as well try it while you got 'em.
no subject
Aye, why not give it a go!
[He looks around for something to jump off, thinking that might be easier.]
Hey, help me find a rock or something to stand on, will ye?
no subject
[Because a flat surface seems better.]
Hold on. I'll be right back.
[And off Kay goes. He considers getting some cushions too, just in case. But doesn't know how well Jamie would take to cushion armor. It might weigh him down anyway.]
no subject
[Just in case. Sand is softer than the Plane floor, after all. But he'll wait for Kay to come back with the chair in case he's got a better idea.]
no subject
no subject
Aye, that's true. Although a wee bit of bruising'll not bother me. Here, this looks like a good spot. Let me have the chair?
no subject
[Sorry for the language, Jamie. It comes with being a Kay.]
no subject
Butterfly wings? Och, how did ye get through doors with those?
[Turned sideways, maybe. Not something he'd care to try. These ones were bad enough for that, as he'd found back when he was a full beastie and wandering around the Plane. Here on the beach, though, it's not a problem, and he lets them unfurl even as he wiggles the chair back and forth in a handy patch of sand to get it to sink in a little and stay steady when he goes to climb on it.]
Hey, you'd not wound up with those feeler-things butterflies have too, did ye?
