[ Several months within contact of the Plane, and several months doing his best to feel indifferent towards people he has met -- people he sees as comrades, as friends even, and as family -- is taking its toll. It is against his nature to be indifferent, but it is a necessity: his friends don't need the problems his reality has.

Back home, he has been finding himself experiencing migraines and unpleasant dreams. Though today, he blames the sudden sprouting of ram horns on his head for his headache and the soreness he feels about his neck and shoulders. The throb in his head is such that trying to get back home is a literal pain (and he might just figure out that it's currently impossible), and the thought of flicking to a more comfortable place is too troublesome. Besides, the fallen leaves and the grass on the forest floor can be comfortable too...

With a groan, he digs the heels of his palm against closed eyes as he lies on his back and says to no one in particular through his teeth -- ]

I did not agree to this experiment, damn it! It's not even funny.

Oh. [he sounds disappointed] Okay, but if you change your mind, come and find me! I bet it'd be interesting to find out.

[of course, Doc feels that way as long as it's not an experiment on him. experimental medicine is always better when it's happening to someone else]

So uh... [ deflecting? :8D;;; ] how's yoga coming along?

Oh, it's good--especially now that I can come here to do it. I wish I'd found this place ages ago! I've never had so much time to relax.

That's good! [ He gives an odd smile at that. ] Aside from the Bath House, where else do you hang out, Doc?

Oh, mostly there. The kitchen is nice, too. I like the theatre, but they really need to get more movies!

What about you?

Right now, the Bath House serves me well. I like the library though, and this forest. It's peaceful.

[ He recalls something -- ] Isn't that the place you have to bring food into to get in?

[confused] What, the theatre? No, that's like...what you do at a potluck. At a theatre, you can eat if you want to, or you can just enjoy the movie without all the empty calories! Popcorn is really unhealthy.

Ah. It's just that it had a big sign on it that says that the admission price is food. Then again... nobody collected it. I made a sandwich one time for that.

[ Scratch of his cheek. ] I'm not much of a movie person though. I just wanted to take a look at the place.

[Doc tilts his head a bit] Yeah, I don't know what sign you mean.

Really? I think movies are great. I mean, they're like real life, except without all the pain and dying!

Oh. [ Maybe they were talking about different buildings... ] What movies do you like watching, Doc?

Is there more than one theatre?

All of them! But especially the ones with animals. They're always so cute! And action movies are fun--O'Malley always wanted to watch those. I think the best are action movies with animals because then you get cute animals and things blowing up at the same time!

(( OOC: If there were changes to the Theater that involved taking the signage down, I'm very unaware it! The locale description still says the sign is there '''orz ))

[ Scratches the back of his head. ] I don't think so, unless I'm missing something.

[ Brow(dots) quirk. ] I'd feel sorry for the animals if they're in a stressful environment like that.

[ooc: No, it's not that! Doc is just being unobservant]

[scoffs] It's not real! And I bet the animals in movies get pampered and fed really well.

[ Blink. ] I-- suppose that would be the case since it's all make-believe...

But if you think about it, things like that could happen! Like farm animals during wartime, or if a disaster happens and there are pets around!

Well, yeah, but you don't think about that stuff when you're watching a movie! And anyway, animals have instincts to keep those things from happening to them. Just look at rabbit populations! And...cockroaches. No, that's a bad example. They're not very cute.

[ Kiran shakes his head. ] No, not the cockroaches, I hate those things.

[ Hums as he ponders on the other point. ] But I still end up thinking about them. Art imitates life after all. Even when I read about it, I think about other things I know.

Yeah, it sounds like you think too much.

[those are horns are starting to make more sense. clearly someone else agrees that Kiran thinks too much]

[ Kiran's expressions cycled through surprise, then puzzlement, then settled in great amusement as he laughs. ]

That --! [ Hold on, laughing a bit more. ] That's not the first time-- [ heh heh ] I've been told that!

[ hee hee~ ] You're sharp, Doc!

Really? [he laughs with him, happy] Wow! That's definitely the first time I've been told that! Wait till I tell Wash!

[ Kiran pretty much sees why Doc wouldn't be considered "sharp" most of the time, but he has to give it to the man this time~ ] Yeah? Go tell him that, you got me in one try!

I will! But anyway, you really should try not to think too much. Who knows what you might grow next!

[ If not for "Who knows what you might grow next!", Kiran thinks that the statement might have come out... pretty sharp. ]

I'll make sure to try! [ And unceremoniously, he flops onto his back on the forest floor. ] It'll make my head hurt less that way.
