[Oliver emerges on the Plane with a huge grin and a plate of piping hot chocolate chip cookies--freshly baked! he sets the plate on the table in the kitchen, drops from the Plane for a few minutes, and then reappears. he is now wearing a green paper party hat (and the same huge grin) and deposits a stack of similar hats on the table. he steps out of the kitchen and shouts to anyone who might be nearby:]

Hey! There are cookies for everybody! Spread the word!

[then he goes back into the kitchen, retrieving milk and cups and starting to pour some into them. the whole time he does this, he is practically bouncing from foot-to-foot, fidgeting with nervous energy and just generally looking ready to explode with excitement. after a moment, he stops, drops from the Plane again, and then reappears in the kitchen with noisemakers to add to the table. he runs back to the doorway with a noisemaker hanging out of his mouth, blows it several times, and then removes it to yell:]

I mean it! Hot cookies!

[he blows the noisemaker one more time for good measure before disappearing back into the kitchen]

[ooc: Today is Oliver's birthday! And he's had a big life change to go with it. Come celebrate with him!]

[Nathan can resist neither cookies nor party hats, so he just walks right up and grabs one of both. He puts the hat on first, which is a bit of a task since one hand is holding a cookie and he doesn't want to combine his hair and cookie. He succeeds though, and watches Oliver run around like an excited headless chicken. Not a 'oh god i'm DYING' headless chicken.

So, uh, you're in a good mood. What's up?

[Nathan's grin is an easy, friendly one, as it usually is when he pals around.]

Nathan! [Oliver turns, surprised that someone snuck in while he was running around and disappearing (though he probably shouldn't be)] Oh, you'll never guess! [and he grins. go on, Nathan. guess!]

[Nathan gains a thoughtful expression as he tries to guess.]

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

[He pauses his long, drawn out 'uh' to think a bit harder.]

You... uh, huh- you... won fifty lotteries? I'd totally have cookies for that. That'd be awesome.

[It's not clear whether this is a joke or not, but considering how Nathan can be at times, he's probably serious about the 'won fifty lotteries' guess.]

[Eithan is all about cookies~ He shows up with a grin on his face. He's already picking up a party hat and putting it on his head when he starts talking to Oliver.]

So I take it somethin' really fuckin' awesome happened?

[Oliver is still grinning fit to burst] I'll give you three guesses!

[He makes a show of thinking really hard, humming thoughtfully as he crosses his arms and looks around. He can’t hide the faint little grin, though.]

You won a cookie eatin’ contest and now you’re just showin’ off?

[Marta missed the announcements and the commotion. So when she walks into the kitchen, she's really surprised!]

Whoa! What's happening in here? [She blinks, looking at the hats, the noisemakers, the cookies... but then she sees Oliver, wearing a party hat and huge grin, and she can't help but smile and giggle a bit.]

Those cookies smells delicious! Did you make them, Oliver?

Marta! [Oliver smiles brightly] Hey, it's great to see you! And yeah, I did--me and Chloe made them. [he beams]

It’s great to see you too! [She looks at the cookies.] You did? Amazing! And with Chloe too? Aww, that’s so sweet!

Oh, Oliver! [She is absolutely beaming at him, all happy and excited for him, and there are stars in her eyes like she’s suddenly witness to a beautiful romance right before her eyes, and and and...!] You get to see her again!

[ This one decided to take a break from his research and heads to the kitchen... and oh look! It's a Oliver. A happy Oliver.

Saga just stares and realizes what all this means. ]

Saga! [Oliver grabs a party hat and makes a move to put it on Saga's head, beaming all the while] Have a cookie!

[ .......... 0_0 ] [ He's at what Oliver is doing and raises his hand to touch the hat with an off guard look. ]

[ There are few things that get the attention of growing boys, and one definite, surefire thing to do so is with FREE FOOD. ]

[ Kiran says that with a cookie trapped in his teeth already. Why yes, he just ninja'ed one off a plate, thank you much obliged etc. ]

Oh! [Oliver turns in surprise at the voice] Hey, Kiran. Are they? [he smiles, glad to hear that] I did! Well, my girlfriend and I made them together. Have as many as you want!

[ Om nom nom~ now holding a piece in his hand. He gives Oliver a devious grin. ] No wonder they taste exceptional.

[ He is just about to pop that last piece into his mouth until... ] Wait a minute-- "girlfriend"? I thought you were married...?

[The lure of freshly baked cookies is hard to resist, and soon enough there's a certain Scot who comes by to see if he can snag some for himself. The lure of party hats, however, is not nearly so strong. After a quick glance, Jamie ignores those in favor of getting a glass of milk.]

So what's all this for, then?

[Oliver is just going to casually grab a party hat and put it on Jamie's head--as long as Jamie doesn't stop him] Take a guess! [he grins]

What's this? What are we celebrating? A birth? A death? [Christopher has snatched up one of the cookies and devoured it.] Graduation from a baking college!

Hey! [Oliver is surprised by the unfamiliar face, but he laughs at the comment] Not quite, but I did get some baking practise! I'm Oliver, and today's my birthday, so I set up a celebration.

They smell delicious.

[Although the party hats and noise makers - and, indeed, the cookies - were unfamiliar to Gwen, the smile on Oliver's face was unmistakable.]

Have one! [Oliver beams at Gwen] Here's a hat for you, too. [and unless she stops him, he's going to put one on her head]

Yeah! Well, my girlfriend and I made them together.

Leela! [he grins and blows a noisemaker] It's my birthday. How are you? Want a cookie?

[Asch is here looking awkward as fuck. Hasn't changed from last time. The party is a lot less flashier than it was last year, though, and he probably won't be sharing a sad dance with a lady he may or may not have feelings for.

Still, Asch is here, and he bears gifts. It isn't money or a good luck token, or a king's gift of gold. It's just a flat square wrapped with plain brown paper.]
