[Tear is busy in the astral kitchen, making some sort of dish. It's clear that while she seems to know what she's doing, she lacks any sort of finesse. Things are chopped roughly and unevenly, others are stirred vigorously so that there's a bit of splashover, and there's bits of a mess left everywhere.

Satisfied that she's finished, she sweeps the mess into the sink and begins to wash it up.] Hopefully, this will be satisfactory for the fee... I'd like to see what that building is about.

[ You know that thing about growing boys having black holes in their digestive systems? It's that thing that draws this young man into the kitchen -- he makes it a point to stop by whenever he pops into the Plane.

While he had seen neater kitchens, at the least the pretty lady's work didn't look like the kitchen or the food had offended her in any way? ]

There's a building with a banner saying admission costs food. I'd like to see what's inside, so I made something.

Really? A building here on the Plane?

Yes. Recently I've done a bit more exploring here. There's a few interesting places... there really is a wide variety of people from other worlds here.

[ He leans back against the counter, eyes on her handiwork. ] Tell me about it. I checked out the onsen yesterday -- didn't figure it to be so big!

Do you know anything else about that building with the food fee?

No, but I've learned to be prepared for anything.

Would you mind if I tag along, then? I'm curious as to how this building looks like. I'll whip up a sandwich real quick if you're not in a hurry?

If you'd like to. It's no problem. I'll finish doing these while you do so.

[And she begins to start doing the dishes in earnest.]

[ While he gathers what he needs and hums over what he'd put in his sandwich, he calls over the fridge -- ]

My name's Kiran, by the way. What's yours?

[She stops rattling the dishes long enough to answer.]

I'm Tear. It's been a while since I've been here. I don't recall seeing you before.

[not_a_lamb_nor_ram]

[ Kiran pauses in his sandwich assembly -- ] It's good to meet you, Tear.

[ -- and resumes, carefully setting the stuff (salami, gruyère... maybe tomatoes too; hm also olives...) he'd like to put in it. ] Ah-- I guess I'm relatively new? I first came here during a system malfunction, then I came back.

System malfunction? [She frowns a little as she straightens up the dishes in the dish rack.] I see. Perhaps it has been too long since I've been here. I didn't realize that much time had passed.

[She watches his sandwich-making from the corner of her eye, taking catalogue of the things he's using. Some of the items she's never seen before, others are strange variations of familiar products.]

Mm. It brought a whole bunch of people in at one time, and I guess a good lot of them made their way back home. [ He nods as he goes along; Kiran doesn't make use of condiments, and just piles on the salami, tomatoes, red pepper, olives, and finally, the slices of cheese. ] I just wanted to come back.

[ Not much fuss in his sandwich, really. He tops it off with a slice of bread and wraps it up in wax paper. He looks up to Tear with a smile -- ] Think that'll do?

[She watches his technique. It's curious to watch another cook, something she's done when she thinks the others aren't watching. Of course Jade had caught her at it and teased her about it viciously, but for the most part her observations had been her own. Even something as simple as a sandwich is curious.]

It seems suitable enough to me. Let's go.

Not for long. Well, nothing before that malfunction. After that I just flicked back in from home whenever I felt like it.

[ He holds onto his sandwich, and nods. ]

[Stalker Asch has entered the premises. He's just on the other side of the counter, arms crossed, his expression somewhere between contemplative and expectant.]

Perhaps one could attempt to sneak in. I didn't see a problem with simply making some food to get in, though...
