( a sob is the first thing that can be heard, rather than spotting her. she always was louder than she was vibrant, but here she is in all her glory, on her knees, acting like a child. soft and quiet, though she remains sobbing. hiccoughing soon follows, sniffles and for a short time, all that can be produced from the girl are the sounds of misery and despair. this is the second time she’s found herself in this strange area, neither one of said two times could she recall really wanting to stay. or, rather, she thought it was — but nothing made sense at the moment, nothing but sobbing seemed to be the right thing to do )
Is someone there…? ( preferably someone she might know? her voice whimpers the words and her palms, finding her eyes, rub the heels against to try and dry the tears that relentlessly fall ) Please, can someone hear me…?
( Victoria is far from being aware of whom she’s trying to talk to. for some reason, she can recall someone from before but can’t see anyone this time. slowly, she inhales a shaky breath, picks herself up from the ground and awkwardly begins to walk )
I remember, from before, there was someone… Please, aren’t you still there? ( another choking sob, as she realizes that she might have just imagined seeing someone. what if she’s imagined this whole situation? it might even be some dream, or rather nightmare, that just feels as though it’s real. but then again, when she had returned home, it hadn’t felt right for some reason. what had that woman’s name been? oh, that’s right )
Meredith? ( another shaky breath ) Meredith… Sault? That was it, wasn’t it? Oh, please… Please, I’m frightened and I— I thought I’d gotten away from all this stuff!
( she proceeds to walk along the Plane, not that she realized that’s what it was called or even began to fathom wherever it was that she might be. the walk was seeming endless, there really didn’t seem as though there was much of a destination for her to find and so realizing that she was extremely lost, and so once more, she falls to her knees in a heap )
Mister Harris! Missus Harris! ( she choked on a sob ) Please, I don’t want to be alone! I don’t understand, what is going on? Where am I…? What happened?
( she whimpers and mutters before burying her head into her hands ) …if I wanted this, I would have stayed on the TARDIS…

what a terrible boy. she takes a moment in attempting to locate her voice to speak to him. )
It would be rather gentlemanly of you to keep them there, yes. ( although she might not argue him grasping at her waist, really. they are alone in here, as it were. )
Oh, aye. ( she mocks with a chuckle ) Alright then, Mister McCrimmon. ( hesitating just a bit to hum in front of him, she clears her throat again and recalling the typical ballroom dance beat, takes a moment to properly hum, moving her feet in the right way for such a dance; expecting him to do the same. )

The lingering humor over the teasing fades quickly, however, replaced by a furrowed brow as he tries to do the steps of the dance. And while he can manage with some types of dancing, ballroom dancing is something he really doesn't have any experience in...so his attempt isn't going at all well.]
Och. Look, Victoria. Could ye maybe slow down a wee bit or something?
[Yes, he knows it's already slow, thank you. He's just trying to avoid stepping on her feet.]
no subject
This won't do, ( she muttered, pointing with her toes to his feet. ) Your feet are all wrong, Jamie.
no subject
Aye, maybe you're right. Where exactly are they supposed to be, then?
no subject
( she smiles warmly to him. leave it to Jamie to withhold the information that he can't ballroom dance. of course, she didn't really think he could — it wasn't really on the list of thing that she thought he might have spent his off time doing. )
Here, watch my feet... One, two, three. One, two, three... ( it's fairly easy for her to catch the rhythm and step in line. she does, however, step slowly so that he'll catch on. or so she hopes. )
no subject
Aye, let me try. Let's see...
[Slowly, he starts to copy her, and while there's a few missteps at first, he does appear to be getting the hang of it, at least a little.]
One, two, three. One, two, three. Like that?
no subject
There you go, you're getting it now.
( lifting her head to look up at him once more, she motions for him to do the same. )
Okay, now, try again. Ready—?
( again, she begins to hum the proper sort of beat and moves her feet to match with it, this time assuming he'll do better with it. )
no subject
Dancing. With Victoria, when he thought he never would see her again. A slow smile stretches across his face as they move around the room, the steps coming much easier now.]
Hey, that's not so bad!
[More confident now, he shifts his hand, resettling on her waist so it's not as stiff as it was before - although it's just the one. The other stays quite properly on her shoulder.]
Is this better?
no subject
like him, her lips tug into a smile. and briefly, she stops her humming but continues dancing along anyway. )
You're a quick learner, aren't you? ( she chuckles, and returns to her light hum. )
no subject
Aye, well, I never said that I've not danced at all. Just that I don't do it much. And I suppose ye could say it's a different sort of dancing.
[There's a pause then, as he lets that sink in. Someone is enjoying himself entirely too much right at the moment.] I could show ye, if ye like.
no subject
she had abandoned her humming altogether but continued to slowly sway her hips and move her feet to the beat that had once been there while they chatted. )
Oh? And what kind of dance might that be? You know I can't play bagpipes for you, Jamie.
no subject
I can still go back to the TARDIS and find something to play music on so I can show ye. That is, if ye trust me to come back.
[He hesitates, looking down into her eyes. He hadn't wanted to bring it up, sensing the idea might frighten her, but there's a way for her to keep an eye on him.] Or...ye could go back with me.
no subject
her lips formed a tight line as though she was trying to keep from saying something she might regret and her eyes lowered to the floor. she'd by then stopped dancing, so she was just standing with him now. she had left for a reason, and going back hadn't been a part of her plans, ever, honestly. )
Go back...? ( she spoke soft, almost inaudibly. ) Jamie, I... ( she really didn't want to have to see that look of disappointment on his face again. when she'd told him she wanted to stay behind, he had looked so... frowning, Victoria shifts her weight from one foot to the other and dropping her hands from their grasp on him, lowers her head. )
I don't want to be frightened all the time, Jamie...
no subject
It's not like that, Victoria. There's a thing we can do here where we can take each other to our worlds. All we need to do is hold on when we leave the Plane. It's why I let go, before, when ye left. So I'd not go with ye accidentally.
But you're not stuck there, so ye can still leave when ye want. This is more like...like you're visiting for a time. A-and we'd not be there long, just long enough to get the music machine and come back. [He dips his head a little, giving her a reassuring smile.]
Ye wouldn't even have to see the Doctor if ye don't want to. He was mucking about in the power room when I left. I can take ye right around that.

( oh god, someone put a stop to the kid's thought process. )

There was even a time where I'd fallen off a ledge and came here so I'd not be hurt. [Well, okay, that one might have been more of a slightly panicked reflex than a deliberate choice, but still. He frowns faintly, then, remembering something.] Although...I did fall on that lassie in the process, come to think about it.
If ye don't want to go, though, Victoria, I'll not make ye do it. I can go and get the music player. Or we can do more of this ballroom dancing. Whatever you'd like.

briefly, there's almost a twinge of jealousy that he's been toppling onto girls. green, however, is not a good color on her nor does it have a place existing in her mind at the moment.
she didn't. the last thing that she wanted to do was to be back in the TARDIS. she hated that she didn't want to be there, it made it seem as though she hated everything that took place with being brought on there in the first place. she didn't dislike everything that had happened, Victoria had good memories with the Doctor and Jamie — she just couldn't bring herself to be okay with being upset and frightened all the time. and unfortunately for Jamie, she didn't want any of that again. )
I don't know, I don't— ( she really didn't want to just up and tell him 'no' to going back, but in the end, it was fairly obvious, wasn't it? shaking her head, she bit onto her lip and glanced off to keep her gaze from being anywhere near his. ) —I don't want to. I don't want to be there Jamie.
no subject
Hey, look, I just thought...aye, well, never mind that. I told ye, we don't have to go. We can stay here, and I'll even let ye lead again with this dancing instead. [And he'll let the subject drop and not bring it up again. He gives her a hopeful smile.] What do ye say?
no subject
I... ( it's not your fault, Jamie. girls are complicated, fickle creatures. her voice is small with her next words because she can recall just how sad he'd been when she told him something similar before, but nevertheless, the words come out and instantly she regrets her next actions: ) I want to go home.
( and much like before, quickly, she drops from the Plane to find herself back at the home of the Harris'. her chest is tight with a mixture of fear and even heavier; guilt. this time when leaving him, though, at least she didn't have to see any sorrow on his face. )
no subject
...come back...
[Only she doesn't. And eventually, he gives up and goes back to change. Hopefully, once she's calmed down, she'll come see him again.]
