( a sob is the first thing that can be heard, rather than spotting her. she always was louder than she was vibrant, but here she is in all her glory, on her knees, acting like a child. soft and quiet, though she remains sobbing. hiccoughing soon follows, sniffles and for a short time, all that can be produced from the girl are the sounds of misery and despair. this is the second time she’s found herself in this strange area, neither one of said two times could she recall really wanting to stay. or, rather, she thought it was — but nothing made sense at the moment, nothing but sobbing seemed to be the right thing to do )
Is someone there…? ( preferably someone she might know? her voice whimpers the words and her palms, finding her eyes, rub the heels against to try and dry the tears that relentlessly fall ) Please, can someone hear me…?
( Victoria is far from being aware of whom she’s trying to talk to. for some reason, she can recall someone from before but can’t see anyone this time. slowly, she inhales a shaky breath, picks herself up from the ground and awkwardly begins to walk )
I remember, from before, there was someone… Please, aren’t you still there? ( another choking sob, as she realizes that she might have just imagined seeing someone. what if she’s imagined this whole situation? it might even be some dream, or rather nightmare, that just feels as though it’s real. but then again, when she had returned home, it hadn’t felt right for some reason. what had that woman’s name been? oh, that’s right )
Meredith? ( another shaky breath ) Meredith… Sault? That was it, wasn’t it? Oh, please… Please, I’m frightened and I— I thought I’d gotten away from all this stuff!
( she proceeds to walk along the Plane, not that she realized that’s what it was called or even began to fathom wherever it was that she might be. the walk was seeming endless, there really didn’t seem as though there was much of a destination for her to find and so realizing that she was extremely lost, and so once more, she falls to her knees in a heap )
Mister Harris! Missus Harris! ( she choked on a sob ) Please, I don’t want to be alone! I don’t understand, what is going on? Where am I…? What happened?
( she whimpers and mutters before burying her head into her hands ) …if I wanted this, I would have stayed on the TARDIS…

Are you...Victoria?
[he pouts when she gives him that look, though] No, really, I mean it! Just give it a go. You'll see! [he'd demonstrate it for her, but unfortunately his current experiment means he can't--and he isn't about to tell her that]
no subject
Ah, but... ( she really would prefer to know what he know about Jamie first. maybe then she'll 'try' )
no subject
[he doesn't really want her to leave, either, but he would like to see her calm down. he's hoping the talk of Jamie will manage that at least]
no subject
seeming almost winded, she just gives a soft shake of her head, raising her brows to him ) ...i, it's ...nice to meet you, Mr Day.
no subject
[but she's sounding more disbelieving by the minute. his smile slips] Uh...maybe I should get you one of the brochures that explain this place... [gently] Do you think you can stand?
[he makes a face] Oh, call me Oliver! You've got no idea how good it is to actually see you, Victoria. [he smiles warmly]
no subject
( her cheeks flush slightly but she nods and picks herself up from the ground, touching her palms to her knees to brush them off. so unfitting of a lady to be any sort of messy in front of a young man; not to mention her behavior. she could only imagine what her tutors would say if they could see her now. ) Y, yes, sorry...
It's nice to see me? ( she raises her brows ) But I don't even know you, why is it so good to see me? ( all her confusion, goodness )
no subject
[as she gets up, he offers a hand to help her, but he's relieved to see that she seems to be all right on her own. he shakes his head] There's nothing to be sorry for!
Oh, ah... [he puts a hand behind his head, sheepish] I just mean, I've heard about you from Jamie. But it's great to see you. For real!

J, Jamie talks about me? ( tempted to touch her palms to her face to try and almost rub away the blush, Victoria starts fiddling with her fingers nervously to keep herself from doing that.
although now that she thinks about it, she can only imagine the types of jokes that the Scot might be making. endearing though they might be, a joke is a joke and Victoria will not be made into one. she smiles fondly, though. Jamie talks about her. ) You probably shouldn't believe a word he says.
no subject
What, you mean you're not kind and courageous?
[okay, he might be trying to cause trouble now. but it's nice to see her looking so much calmer now that they're talking about Jamie]
no subject
Jamie thinks she's courageous. )
Oh no, no no. I... I'm not courageous at all. far from it, a, actually.

no subject
( all the boasting toward the Scot, goodness )
no subject
So! Ready to try going home yet?
[did you see that smooth change of topic? that's his expert way of telling Victoria that he's not going to listen to any arguing about her courage]
no subject
Oh no, no no. What if I can't get back? What if I get stuck? Or lost? Or those dreadful creatures are back? Or ... Or ...
( what was that about courage? )

( for one thing, technology was not her forte. and if this whole thing wasn't technology, then it had to be magic, and she wasn't really well versed in that, either. in fact magic didn't exist, right? )

Well, alright. But should something happen... ( you may have an angry Scot to deal with. )
I just close my eyes and think...?
( and she does so, picturing her adoptive parents' home and the nearby beach as well. opening her eyes has her suddenly facing the ocean view she's grown accustomed to whilst living with the Harris'. raising her brows, she turns her head to look over her shoulder and sure enough, there's the house she's been calling home.
a smile graces her features and she begins to run toward the house. she almost there when her thoughts turn back to Oliver — he mentioned knowing Jamie, that must mean he's on that awful Plane. thinking about the Plane, however, lands her back on it. gasping as she appears in front of the boy again, raises brows to him as she nearly hits into him, since she had been running. )
Yikes! ( she catches herself, and flushes just sightly. ) ...that was strange...
no subject
Yeah? [he watches her reaction, trying to decide if she's any calmer. he's not exactly comforted by the fact that something made her want to run] Ah...you okay?
no subject
I, I'm okay... Just a bit confused at how that even really works.
no subject
[uncertainly] Is there anything else I can help you with? If you want, I could show you around or get you a welcome brochure.
no subject
A brochure? That might be a good place to start with when looking for aid. Yes, that would be lovely, thank you.
no subject
Okay, great! [he brightens, glad to have found something he can do for her] The kiosk is over there! [he points, starting in that direction] I'll take you to it.
no subject
Oh, excellent! ( and with that, she picks up her step and follows him! ) Thank you, by the way, for all your help.
no subject
[he waves a hand] It's nothing. Everybody needs help when they first get here. [he gestures at the kiosk that is now visible a little ways in front of them] Look, we're almost there already! See it?
