[the loud crack of a bullet echoes from the coliseum, the sounds coming in groups of four before there's a break and the sound resumes. if anyone is nearby, they'll see signs and caution tape thrown up around the various entrances warning them not to come in that way. there is, however, one entrance in the south (or what seemed like the south) is still open. tacked to a pillar is a handwritten sign in block lettering that simply reads, "Interested in some sparring or target practice? Come on up!"]
[head into the coliseum itself and in the main arena, and one will see a few sets of pugil sticks leaning against one wall next to a simple metal table covered with various guns (pistols, battle rifles, and another sniper rifle) and several spare clips of ammo separated into two piles. in the middle of the grounds and scattered around the stands are various bottles of liquor--and in some cases, the shattered remains of said liquor bottles. and at the very, very top of the coliseum, situated at the top-most southern point of the coliseum is North.]
[as always, he's in his full suit of body armor and is lying down flat on top of the old stones, sniper rifle aimed at one of the many bottles he'd set up earlier, his motion tracker switched on so he can see any movement going on down below. which he does, so he quietly stands, stretches, and then jumps down from his perch, ready to greet whomever is coming to visit.]
[ooc: Hey, as North's sign says, if anyone's up for some sparring, training, or target practice with North, this is the place! He's up for any kind of sparring and has a few training weapons at the ready. (Though the live ammo is only for the target practice.) As a note, the pugil sticks can give off a small amount of electricity, but we can turn that off. There is also a special paintball scenario training that the Freelancer agents undergo, an example which can be seen here, but that particular paintball might hurt a little more than your typical one. So! Even if he hasn't met your character yet, what's a faster way of bonding than a good ol' sparring session?]
[ooc again: Sorry for the slow tags! I've been sick all week. Brain just hasn't been there to tag, but I'm feeling better! Thanks for having patience with me!]

So, how about a little hide and seek? Keep it in here, of course. [sets up his own pistol, cocking a paintball round into the chamber]

Right, fine. No complaining. Wasn't planning on it. [...
sure, South. mhm.She turns, ready to head for the other side of the arena.] Shouldn't you be hiding right about now?no subject
Go go Freelancer ninja powers!, over a private comm channel] I am. Start counting.[and while he quietly runs, he switches off his motion tracker. it only seems fair in the spirit of the exercise. it's usually off for the regular scenario.] And don't bother turning on your motion tracker. We're doing this the old-fashioned way.

[She times her pacing so that she'll reach the other side by the time the count is done. With that pistol loaded, cocked and ready, all she'll have to do is round the corner, and it'll be game start.]

so when those final seconds are up, he dashes through the fighter's quarters, aiming to head back out into the arena once he's found the next entrance. but for now, he's not going to make it very easy for the seeker...]

She quickly moves forward, pace consistent and fully alert. Her first plan is to simply round the arena and take note of the exits and potential hiding spots. She’ll move into other areas later - perimeter first, so to speak.]

he picks up speed as he starts to jog to the next entrance and then the next, drawing closer and being sure to stay in the shadows as much as he can so she can't see him if she chances a look over in his direction.]

quietly, he starts to walk back to the previous entrance, slipping ever so silently out into the open, and starts to run up the stands before he starts moving forward again, keeping as low as he can.]

Standing still isn’t going to help. At the very least, she needs to keep moving. And if he’s not in the entranceways, then he’s either down below or managed to move up to higher ground. And which sounds more like him, honestly? It’s still just a hunch, and she may very well be wrong, but it beats just standing around.
She moves toward the stands, very carefully watching in all directions for any sort of movement up there.]

then he pulls the trigger.]

She knows better than to stop. As she moves, keeping low, it only takes her a second to pick up on the trajectory, and she glances toward where that shot came from, where North should be. Not that she expects to see him fully, he's probably found a way to hide...]

not one to waste a chance like this, he squeezes off three shots in quick succession, each one aiming for a different location on her body to optimize his chances of a strike.]

Well, there goes the use of her left hand, but now she knows where he is again. She picks up the pace as well as she can, headed straight for him. And oh, if he shows himself again...]

[Yep, direct hits. All of 'em. And down she goes, paint-covered and pissed off. Fuck this game. But she said she wasn't going to complain, so she won't... (out loud, anyway)]
