[Menzies arrives lying on the ground somewhere in the middle of the Plane. she's breathing hard, looking rather horrified and a little pale. she quickly sits up, looking down at herself in apparent confusion. then she starts to pat herself down, as though checking for injuries] All right... No gunshot. Fine now, then. Sure.
[taking a deep breath, she pulls herself to her feet, still looking completely frazzled. after a moment's thought, she takes hold of the ID badge that hangs around her neck. pulling it out, she briskly runs the edge of it along the back of one her hands, creating a small cut. she winces but watches with apparent interest as the cut bleeds red] And not dead. [she breathes a sigh of relief] First thing that's gone right all day... [she replaces her ID card before looking around, her expression uncharacteristically uncertain. she still looks pale and out of breath, and she clearly has no idea what to do now] Maybe this is payback for pissing off Ray.
[ooc: Menzies is in the middle of major trouble back home! See my OOC post for details.]

How long is it taking your head to clear up when you jump here?

[and if she goes back...considering she nearly passed out before she left, she's not sure if she'll be able to get herself out again]
[but for the moment, she takes his hand, pulling herself up. she's relieved to find that she's perfectly steady on her feet, and she lets his hand go] Cheers.

[He still hangs around close, even after she lets go of his hand in case it turns out that she's not steady on her feet. Sometimes he rears to go too early and it catches up with him.]

It's not my area of expertise. [though she's pretty sure he's right--what she's been experiencing hasn't been at all like a dream. she's just not sure what else to call it] But it's over now, anyway. [and she's still standing just fine. see, Kay? she's all right for now]
But maybe... [thoughtfully, she reaches into her pocket. she really does wonder how long it took her to get to the Plane in the first place; the holes in her memory are not sitting well with her at all. and yes--her mobile's still there! which, despite the fact that she's from 2011, is still a flip phone. she opens it, checking the time and date--and her eyes go wide with horror] ...that's not possible.

[but apparently it has been. she has no idea how to take this information at all. has he really had her in that thing for five days!?]
[it's funny what seems important when you're really shocked by something, but she blurts out her kneejerk reaction of:] How the hell am I going to explain this when I get back?

You know a guy with a time machine. I guess have him drop off a doctor's excuse?
[Seemed easier to fix than... whatever that contraption was.]

[she closes her mobile and puts it back in her pocket, still trying to think this through] Well. Could be worse. [because at least she doesn't seem to have any physical signs of that sort of captivity. just...whatever's been done to her head. and telling herself that it could be worse is her way of dealing with how upsetting it is] I'm going to get some coffee and see what else I can remember.

[she nods] All right. I'll stay near the kitchen, then. See you later.
