[Out on the plane, there is a young boy sitting in an open-ish area, looking out at all the stars. But he's not just stargazing, he's also drawing something on a piece of paper as he looks. If you get close enough to him, you'll see lots of scribbled drawings correlated to the stars' arrangement, but as soon as he finishes a drawing the stars have shifted enough that they don't match up anymore.]

Geez, why does it keep doing that?

What's with the drawings?

[Duo always enjoys watching the stars. They're much better looking from down here than in a colony.]

[windyheir]

I was trying to see if I could recognize any constellations, but I couldn't, so I started drawing my own.

[If you look there are some weird stick-shapes that look vaguely animal-shaped but they aren't easy to decipher.]

I haven't seen any I recognize either. I doubt we'd see anything normal unless we go back to our own worlds.

It doesn't hurt to try, right? Who knows, maybe we'll see the Big Dipper if we look long enough.

[punkblaze]

[Hey, no more sick Eithan! He happens to hear John, and decides to go have a look because he's just nosy like that.]

What keeps doin' what?

[windyheir]

[Not being sick is good! He gives Eithan a little wave before talking.]

The stars, they keep moving.

[punkblaze]

Yeah? [He sits as well, watches the stars for a little bit...] Huh. I can't really tell. Not that I really spent much time watchin' 'em to begin with...

[He glances at the drawing.] Oh hey, are you an artist?

[windyheir]

It's kinda slow, I don't ever notice until I try to find the constellations again.

[He'll hold up the drawings for Eithan to see. They're pretty much dots with lines connecting them.]

[punkblaze]

What, they don't even stay in constellations? [Blink!] That's weird. Leave it to this place, though...

[He tilts his head a bit as he looks at the paper.] Aha. So not so much an artist as a stargazer, huh?

[windyheir]

[He smiles sheepishly.]

I'm trying to map them out. Maybe if I see some that look familiar, I can find a way back home.

[Except he only knows like three constellations tops.]

[punkblaze]

Back home? [He frowns, a little concerned.] Huh. So back in your own world, are you lost?

[windyheir]

Something like that.

[Oops avoiding looking at Eithan right now, the ground sure is interesting.]

Things are really complicated back home! And my reality-thingy isn't of my home, so I can't just go back that way. I thought maybe I could find another way.

[punkblaze]

Ah.

[Eithan doesn't fully understand, of course, but it's clear that things aren't easy for John right now, and that's what matters. Since John's looking down, Eithan's going to look out at the stars as he speaks.]

It's possible. You know? I mean, shit's weird here. [Faint laugh] It's worth a shot. Hell, if it can drag people to other people's realities at random? I bet it's possible to get you home or somethin'.

[windyheir]

[That gets him to look up.]

It can do it randomly? I thought you had to be holding hands and have someone take you there.

[punkblaze]

Yeah, I think that's how it's supposed to work - the holdin' hands thing. But there's been twice now that people have just shown up in my world at random. Like, they just got dragged there. And then got dragged off to someone else's world a little bit after that. It was weird! Maybe the Plane was glitchin' or somethin'...

[windyheir]

Yeah, that sounds like it could be a little dangerous. How would you get out of someone else's world without them there?

[punkblaze]

I guess you just hope they're there. Scary thought, huh? [He shakes his head.] Or maybe at some point you can get back to the Plane on your own. Somehow. Still...

[windyheir]

Hopefully that's what would happen! I mean, I've only seen Dave's place, but I bet some people's worlds are much scarier than anything I've seen.

[punkblaze]

Yeah, same here. I mean, my world's probably pretty tame to some of these others, especially from the stuff I hear people talkin' about.

[windyheir]

Yeah? What's your world like?

[punkblaze]

Well, actually, it's two. Heh. [Sheepish grin]

Meridia's where I'm actually from. It's kinda small, really forest-y where it isn't all city. Everything's kinda spread out. And it's a lot less developed than the other world, Tharia. Tharia's got huge cities and tons of people! It's insane! And all sorts of crazy technology... it's pretty awesome.

What about your world? What's it like?

What's frustrating you?

[windyheir]

The stars won't stay still.

[lamb_of_gold]

They never do, even at home.

[windyheir]

Well yeah, but even if they move back home, they're still together in constellations. These ones don't even do that.

[lamb_of_gold]

They can be seen sometimes. There, see... [Mu points towards the stars below them, a little ways to his lef] There is Perseus.

[windyheir]

[He looks down at the stars, but he doesn't know what Perseus looks like, so.]

Where is it?

[lamb_of_gold]

[Mu shuffles a bit closer and leans down until he's at about John's height, then points .] There. That 'C' shape, and that branch from it.

[windyheir]

[He squints and tries to make out the shape, and it takes him a moment, but finally he sees it. When he does, his face lights up and it's like the best thing ever.]

I see it! Hehe, it looks kind of like an arm holding a bow.

[lamb_of_gold]

[Mu tilts his head a bit and smiles] I'd never thought of it quite that way, but you're right, it does.

[moveslikestrider]

What, the stars? [Dave joins him, sitting down with a laptop on his lap. Whatever he was doing is facing away from the heir.] They always move dude.

[windyheir]

I know, but they could move slower, like the ones back home.

[And by 'home' he means Earth, of course.]

[moveslikestrider]

They're assholes, speeding by on their busy star lives. Going to their starry jobs like shit man we don't care what you want we need our shit done. [He types something on the GEARTOP.]

Seen any sign of Harley?

[windyheir]

Not recently, but I'm sure she's around. Why?

[moveslikestrider]

Because I haven't seen her since I talked to Rose.

[windyheir]

Really? Not at all?

[moveslikestrider]

Not a blip. Which is weird, you'd think she'd be all over this place.

[windyheir]

Yeah, I hope nothing happened to her.

[Now he looks worried, and he's already considering giving up on the stars and looking around for Jade.]

[moveslikestrider]

Probably off dogging it up somewhere. Throwing water on the plants and making it all grow with some flute tune. Like it ain't no thing. [Acting casual but has a bit of worry himself.]

What are you looking for?

[windyheir]

Oh, hi! I'm just looking for familiar stars, that's all.

[onceandfuturequeen]

That must be hard when they're always changing. Have you found them yet?

[windyheir]

Not yet, but I'm sure they're out there somewhere! I just have to keep looking, right?

[onceandfuturequeen]

Of course. They're still beautiful, even if they're unfamiliar.

Oooh, you're drawing the stars..! [Hiccup says before he could stop himself. He blushes a little, because he knows how people hate it when he just 'sneaks' up on them. But he was just curious.]

I-I mean, the stars, yes, drawing them... I guess... I tried too. Once, twice, few times.

[windyheir]

[John looks up, and he smiles widely at Hiccup. Friendly boy yaaay time to talk friendly.]

I'm trying to draw them! But they keep moving.

[Hiccup blinks surprised and looks up at the sky, to see if they moving that fast.]

What a surprise, not even the stars are normal here... Brilliant. So, uh, you're a stargazer person? You can tell the future? [Because clearly, if you're interested in stars, you're weird like that. But it's okay, Hiccup is just as weird.]

[windyheir]

Nah, that's Rose, not me. I just thought I'd look for familiar stars, but it's not working so well.

[Don't be fooled, Hiccup, John is still very weird. It's just a different kind of weird.]

I tried too once, but I'm not good with stars that much yet. [Hiccup sighs.] But maybe they aren't stars at all.
