Something is not right with home

[This is Hiccup. Slowly pacing forward, with an absent expression on his face. He looks very tried too. Toothless, his dragon, follows him from a distance, looking utterly confused at him.]

[This is Hiccup, still. Noticed the changes in his reality. The temples... the strange, glowing, whatever things that people call portals... and that huge, maybe god-made metal boat-like-thing on the ocean... and the olive trees. The. Olive trees. He only had heard about them in books. It's just too much...]

Too muuuuch... S-sometimes I-I wonder if this isn't the gods playing a trick on me, if this isn't the end of the world, this must be it, if it's my luck, it definitely is the end of the world... [He mutters to himself in disbelief still just walking forward without any goal, followed by Toothless.]

[Jamie - after eyeing the dragon for a moment - looks over at the unfamiliar lad with a slightly worried expression. Whatever he's talking about doesn't sound good.] Hey, are ye alright?

Uuuh... [Hiccup stops, and stares at Jamie with an empty gaze.] I'm fine, yes, everything is normal, really, nothing is wrong, what was I even thinking... Ahahaha...

Are ye sure? Ye look a wee bit spooked to me. [He glances around trying to see if there's anything out of the ordinary, but all he can see is Toothless - who, frankly, doesn't look too menacing at the moment.]

Is it yon beastie over there that's got ye upset?

I-I guess people get like that when- when they notice something is wrong back home, but no one notices it's wrong, because they keep saying it was like this for centuries now...!

Beast- eeeh.. uuuh, no. No Toothless... hasn't changed. He is the same, at least he... seems the same... [Hiccup blinks and glances at the dragon. Toothless shares a confused look with Jamie, than back to Hiccup. What is his problem!?]

[Well, at least Jamie's not the only one confused here - although he hasn't run across too many beasties that have shared with it with him before. At least, not in same way.]

So something's wrong back home on your world, then? What's happened with it?

It... it changed. Fo-for example there are these huge portals... My father says we had them since our great-great-great grandfathers moved to Berk. But I know we-- we have them since today. But everyone is laughing at me, as usual. At least that hasn't changed a bit.

Aye, I'd not blame ye for being worried about that. But...I may just have an idea about what's happened, and it's nothing that ye should be laughed at for. Have ye been through one of these portals yet?

[Hiccup blushes a bit, because he is ITCHING to explore these portals actually, but not yet.] N-not yet. Buuuut... soon. Why? Do you know where are they going?

Well, no. I'd say that depends on a few wee things. [Like who the lad has a merger with.]

What I can tell ye is when something similar happened to me, it was linking my world with one of my friends from here on the Plane.

What, someone from this place? Who? Maybe I'm linked with them too, I should know, maybe they can tell me more about these portals!

Aye, that's what I meant. If you've one of those merger things with someone, maybe those portals are from their world. Do ye know anyone who would have something like that? Or mentioned anything that sounds similar?

Mmm, I can't think of anything, there is still a lot of things I don't know about the other worlds, there could be anyone...!

Hmmm. [That's a wee bit tricky, but Jamie thinks he might have an idea that'll help.]

[Hiccup furrows his brows as he is thinking.] I'd say... Leela... She's very important to me in this place. I-I think we are close.

[A guilty look appears on his face at the name. He still hasn't talked to her about what happened with the candy, and that's something he needs to fix.]

A-aye. I'd say talk to her, then. Maybe she'll know what the portals are. Or be willing to explore them with ye if not. She's a good person to have at your back.

She could tell me more about them? [But to Odin, exploring these portals with Leela sound extremely fun!] I know... she has helped me in a lot of things. Eh, uh, so you know her too? Are you from her tribe too?

She might, at that. [He's not surprised to hear that Leela's helped the lad. She's helped him, as well.]

No, but we've a friend in common. And she's a friend, too. Or...was. I'm not so sure about that anymore.
