Something is not right with home

[This is Hiccup. Slowly pacing forward, with an absent expression on his face. He looks very tried too. Toothless, his dragon, follows him from a distance, looking utterly confused at him.]

[This is Hiccup, still. Noticed the changes in his reality. The temples... the strange, glowing, whatever things that people call portals... and that huge, maybe god-made metal boat-like-thing on the ocean... and the olive trees. The. Olive trees. He only had heard about them in books. It's just too much...]

Too muuuuch... S-sometimes I-I wonder if this isn't the gods playing a trick on me, if this isn't the end of the world, this must be it, if it's my luck, it definitely is the end of the world... [He mutters to himself in disbelief still just walking forward without any goal, followed by Toothless.]

The gods don't really mess with people that often, Hiccup, so don't worry about that.

You don't know with gods... No one knows, but my grandfather claims he knows, but I don't think so, so no one knows...!

I, uuuh, nothing. Except that my home is weird, and even my dad won't notice it. So I could at least get some time before they somehow realized I'm keeping a dragon as a pet! A-ahahaha... ha...

You're right. Nobody does knows. But I try not to blame the gods for things that are probably just normal old stuff. Either that, or this place doing it. Don't you think that's a better explanation?

[Thinks about it for a moment.]

This places is messing with my home, again? Oh man, just brilliant. That's my luck. But until no one seems to notice I-I guess I'm fine with it, yes I am, completely, really.

Nah, nothing it's just... my father is back from the dragon hunting quest of his. Now he thinks I'll kill a dragon, but... well... [He rubs the back of his neck, looking at Toothless.]

[So that's where all that dragon killing stuff comes from.]

Heh. Sounds like it if you're that upset. What's different about it?

[He pats Hiccup on the back and goes to Toothless, putting a hand to his head and offering some jerky.] Here you go.

A lot of things, actually. The weather is... nicer, there are some... things around that are called portals, and... while were practicing flying with Toothless I saw the strangest ship, ever! It was made out of metal!

[Toothless happily takes the food, munching on it, almost smiling.]

A metal ship? Huh. [Duo winces at the thought of that. So, better weather and portals? For a guy who lives in the dark ages, that really does seem like the acts of god.]

So you know that the more you get to know someone the more your reality and theirs merges, right?

A huge one. It's almost like an island, but all made of metal. [Hiccup nods.]

Uuuuh, I-I remember something y-yes... [Frowns.] So that's what happening now?

[Duo frowns. Sounds like something out of modern day. Something that big? Worth checking out.]

Might be. You want me to check it out, Hiccup?

EH? [Heavy frown.] What do you mean, you can come to Berk?

Why not? Two smart guys like us should be able to figure it out in a few minutes.

Yep. [He offers his hand.] Just like going home normally, only you've got an extra person to come with you.
